We were moved from our mountain cottage with a beautiful view to the mountain (for the sake of making it comfortable for us - appreciation for that) as we call it with no view of the Escarpment! This was very disappointing for us even though the apartments are quite luxurious. I'm an enthusiastic photographer and brought all my photography equipment and binoculars for the exotic weekend of nature and bird life, but our ambiance was a view on an enormous thatched roof from our veranda where the staff stay! Therefore we found that the shower floor was soapy and that we had to move very carefully in the shower which is a big danger for older people like us! We just used a towel to stand up and reduced the chance of slipping. Big appreciation to the staff for making it special for us on Saturday night with our wedding anniversary with beautiful decor and delicious food, thank you very much, it was very special! The most beautiful views are only at the lodge which was far from where we were staying. Would recommend people to check which units they are booking and what the view is like before going there.

The service was poor.

When we arrived at the lodge we were given a small room which we did not book and we were told that our booking doesn’t include breakfast if we need breakfast we must order, only to find out when we check out that we were given wrong room and our booking actually includes breakfast, so the only thing we got was an apology but still we had to pay the full amount for our stay without having breakfast for 2 days. The shower in the room was very bad and the room was not nice at all, not value for money, I was disappointed.

Pleasant stay but.

I had about 500 mosquitoes in my room I had to kill before attempting getting any sleep. No aircon, only ceiling fan so I had to sleep almost outside by the door (with some more mosquitoes).

Uitstekende wegbreek in die rustigheid van die natuur.

Portia en Yvonne het ongelooflike goeie kliëntediens gegee met kommunikasie voor die tyd asook terwyl ons daar was.
