Karoo Serenity.

What a beautiful cottage in the middle of the karoo. Very peaceful and quiet with a lovely mountain view. The perfect place to rest and recharge. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Tranquil, peaceful and a place to wind down.

Die Skooltjie is such a fantastic little gem of a place. Loved the wood burning oven and scenery. Thank you Hanlie and Thys for a great little cottage for the two days we spent there. Thank you Thys for the directions to go on the "Ouberg pass" it was absolutely worth it. We will see you again one day when we come down to explore more of the fabulous Tankwa.

Pragtig, as jy wil gaan rus en afskakel.

Alhoewel dit koud, nat en gesneeu het, het ons ons gate uit geniet. Die koolstoof het die heeldag gebrand. Dit was 'n voorreg om die geskiedenis van die Heyns familie en Die Skooltjie te ervaar. The remoteness is incredible, and yet all the luxuries are there.

We had a wonderful long-weekend stay, even getting engaged under the lone kokerboom on the hilltop. Thys and Hanlie were such warm and welcoming hosts, happy to help with directions and recommendations, and firewood to counter the evening chill. They have a wealth of knowledge about the farm and surrounding areas, and appear happy and eager to share the space and the experience. The location is perfect. Far enough off the beaten track, yet accessible by car and equipped with everything you could ask for.

Rustig, veilig, netjies, heerlik afgesonder.

Hanlie en Thys se plaas is heerlik afgesonder, maar toeganklik vanaf Sutherland se pad. Great fietsryroete na oorspronlike opstalmurasie op plaas, lekker staproete. Ons het heerlik gerus. Hanlie en Thys is gemaklike en vriendelike gashere. Die huisie is gevul met geskiedenis. Alles is daar, tot genoeg komberse vir die winterkoue. Hanlie and Thys' farm is wonderfully secluded, but accessible from Sutherland's road. Great cycling route to the original homestead on the farm, nice walking route. We had a wonderful rest.
