House Rules
Donkerhoek Country Living can accommodate 10 adults and 2 children.
The toilets all make use of greywater.
Guests are advised that the dishwasher, hairdryers, or other high wattage equipment only during 10:00 and 16:00 when the sun is shining.
There is no microwave due to the high power requirement on the solar system.
The pressure pump that supplies water to the house will be off from 10pm to 7am. There will be drinking water available for the night, but be sure to shower before 10pm!
We are on solar power which is sometimes not enough during rainy days - we have a back-up generator for such instances.
Please note there is a gravel road leading to the accommodation. Guests are required to inquire about the condition of the road before arrival, as it could be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
The owner lives on the premises with their pets which are kept away from guests.
Donkerhoek Country Living is a non-smoking establishment.
Parties and events are not allowed.
We do not offer cleaning services.
We do not offer WiFi - we encourage you to spend time in the lovely surroundings!
The house has a camera system which will be off in the immediate vicinity of the house during your visit except for key security points.
Guests are requested not to enter bee and horse areas without being escorted by one of the hosts, and are also advised not to interact with any wildlife as we are in a natural environment.
