For those who love to be up close and personal with nature, this is your ideal getaway. Situated in a conservation area and green belt, Eagle’s Rest Cottage is humble, homely and unpretentious, overlooking the Gonubie River valley, with magnificent river valley views. This stand-alone self-catering thatched cottage is in a peaceful, tranquil, treed setting, only a short stroll from the river's edge and a short drive to Gonubie’s beautiful beach.

Surrounded by indigenous trees and bush, the area has a wide variety of naturally occurring creatures and the most wonderful bird life. You can be assured of being woken by birdsong every morning; be it the fish eagles, Egyptian geese, crowned and trumpeter hornbills, kingfishers, shrikes or Knysna loeries to name a few. Nature is everywhere in this environment, among them are the mischievous geckos that share the cottage with you.

The fully equipped cottage has 2 bedrooms. Each bedroom 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom, 1 with a shower and the other with a bath. The rooms accommodate 4 guests, and there is a single bed sleeper couch in the lounge that can be utilised if necessary for 1 additional guest. The cottage has an open-plan kitchenette and lounge with a wooden deck where you can sip sundowners, relax and enjoy the spectacular views. There is a portable braai and safe parking on the property.

Please note that the cottage has steps leading up to its entrance, so is unfortunately not suitable for elderly or infirm guests, or those confined to wheelchairs.

Due to the surrounding thatch and vegetation, the property is non-smoking.
