Stunning scenery, poor fishing.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I used to come here as a child and it still had the same magical feel to it. Very friendly and helpful staff. I must be honest though, Elands Valley Guest Farm is in need of a bit of maintenance. However, the biggest thing for me was the fishing. I was there for four days and didn't even see one fish rise. The dams have not been properly stocked in a long time and are all in need of some serious maintenance. Far too many reeds and weeds in and around the dams and this made for some unpleasant fishing. The records kept about the fish stocked and caught from each dam were also poor and very outdated.

The service was exceptional and location stunning!

Once we arrived we were greeted by not just 1 but 3 staff who helped us unpack our car, took us less than 10 minutes. The unit we stayed in (Strawberry Fields) was quaint and very tidily kept. On the second day we received complimentary freshly baked bread which was delicious! The views were wonderful of the surrounding hills and valleys with their naturally occurring streams that fed into each of the dams on the property. Caught lots of trout and grass carp and had a splendid time overall!
