De Rust Farm Cottage is a wonderful retreat.

We stayed at De Rust Farm Cottage which is away from the rest of the farm and nicely secluded. The Cottage itself is very well equipped and has an internal fireplace for wintery evenings. Can highly recommend. Just a note that the cottage itself does not have cell phone signal, one needs to walk a little and one does need a car with a bit of ground clearance to get there (bakkie, SUV, we were in a Hyundai Venue), a low sedan won't work.

The road is not for cars. I had a flat tyre on the dirt road towards the venue. We only slept at the venue for one night of the 3 as we could not travel back an forth on the road. When I told the owner I could not stay there due to the road she simply stated that she did not think the road was bad at all. I am telling you now that the road is not suitable for cars, SUVs or bakkies, for sure but not cars. It took me 1h40min to travel back to the main road the next morning.
