A pleasant family stay in a spacious, delightful old house.

Fintimara Bay House has all the practical necessities required for a family holiday. Despite being on a busy and rather noisy main road, it is very private once inside. It is also within walking distance of the harbour, tidal pool and all the shops and restaurants in Kalk Bay.

The place was superb, I'd recommend it for families travelling with kids or group travels.

Rooms are big enough, beds are perfect for relaxing your body. i love the location, next to the harbour with all my favourite restaurants in Kalk Bay.

Kitchen crockery and coffee machine dirty.

Upon arrival our first point of order was to pour a glass of wine, the wine glasses were filthy and smudged in grease, the coffee mugs still had coffee residue in the bottom. The plates and glasses were packed away dripping wet. Like 5 ml of water in-between each plate. So instead of relaxing with a glass of wine we spent the first 30 min washing and drying dishes on arrival. The kitchen tap is loose and water is collecting in the cupboard below the sink where the gas bottle is. The house only has one wall-mounted heater and we felt it would've been a nice touch to have a bundle of wood present on arrival for the fireplace.
