Description

Fonteinskloof is a beautiful farm situated at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains, 10 kms from Swellendam on the R60 towards Ashton. The magnificent mountains tower above the farmhouse and cottages which have been luxuriously renovated to provide comfortable accommodation. The cottages are nestled at the foot of the mountain and have awesome mountain and countryside views.

The 4 newly-renovated cottages are comfortably nestled among tranquil surroundings on an antelope game farm which is home to a variety of animals. Of the 4, there are three 2 bedroom and one 1 bedroom cottages. Each cottage has its own open plan kitchen and lounge area. The cottage floors are superbly finished in porcelain, ceramic or wood and the kitchens have granite or wood finished. All cottages have their own verandas with braai facilities. All cottages are self-catering and fully equipped. All have modern bathrooms with towels and toiletries. All have baths and showers except 1 cottage that has a ‘sit-in’ shower.

The farm has a swimming pool and a games room with a pool table for relaxation after hiking, cycling or playing tennis on the farm court which is not Wimbledon but ideal for an afternoon knock about. You may just want to relax on your stoep and view the bird life while enjoying your refreshment. If looking for adventure, visit Swellendam, the 3rd oldest town in South Africa. To visit this quaint town with its lovely old buildings or have a cup of coffee at one of the many coffee shops or dine at one of the restaurants is a real experience. Evening braais can be organised at an extra cost thereby enabling you to enjoy the fire and the farms setting while everything is prepared for you.

The farm presently boasts 10 different antelope species including bontebok, eland, springbok , nyala , and even a golden wildebeest male is to be found in the 50 strong troop of blue wildebeest. A game drive in the Land Rover game viewing vehicle is available. The cost of the 1.5 hour drive is R600 per family. Cycling on the farm or through the surrounding countryside is possible. There is also a walking trail which takes you on to the slopes of the Langeberg and has magnificent views.

This wonderful farm is ideal for those wanting to recharge their batteries in a tranquil setting .
