Description

The Frontier River Resort offers self-catering safari-style tent accommodation, 6 km from the Vioolsdift border post, on the banks of the Orange River, Northern Cape. The tents are ideal for travellers wanting to experience luxury tented facilities, in a tranquil environment.

The resort is built on a hill, and offers accommodation in 6 luxury safari-style tents which are structured tents that are free standing. There are 5 double chalets that cater for 2 guests each, and 1 chalet which is a 4-sleeper family chalet, which caters for 4 guests. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom built with stones collected from the local area and containing a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. Each tent is air-conditioned and contains a bar fridge.

Guests have shared use of 2 communal boma kitchens that are equipped with a built-in braai, oven and fitted stove with a work surface, as well as a double basin, benches and a table. There is also a Tiki Bar and Deck entertainment area with 180-degree views over the Namibian mountains and the Orange River. Guests can cool off in the inviting swimming pool.

At Frontier River Resort, guests have the option of ordering breakfast or a traditional South African braai dinner, which can be arranged for you. Braai packs, wood, basic foods, water, ice and cold drinks can be bought on-site as well.

A variety of outdoor activities are on offer near the resort, making this a great, self-catering option for couples, families and friends, wanting tranquility after a day spent exploring the surrounds. The resort is situated 25 km from the entrance to the Richtersveldt from the N7, Viooldrift Border Post, en-route to Namibia.
