Description
Full Circle Cottage is on a smallholding on the banks of the beautiful Bushman’s River. It is surrounded by game reserves, is 16 km from Kenton-on-Sea, and is part of the magnificent Sunshine Coast.
The self-catering solar-powered cottage offers all the basics needed for a cosy, comfortable stay while guests explore and enjoy the many activities on offer. The 2 bedrooms each have 2 single beds. There is a small bathroom with a gas geyser shower, toilet and basin.
The open-plan living area incorporates a kitchenette, a dining area, and a lounge that leads onto a deck that has wonderful views of the river and the surrounding bush. There is a TV with full DStv Explora channels.
Full Circle Cottage is delighted and proud to be off the grid and totally dependent on solar power. This however means that some electrical appliances can unfortunately not be used from sunset until an hour or two after sunrise. There is sufficient overnight battery storage capacity to power the cottage’s fridge, lights, TV and Wi-Fi. There is a generator for overcast days.
The kitchenette is equipped with a fridge, gas hob, kettle, potjie pot, flat cast-iron bread pot, cutlery, crockery, tea, coffee, long-life milk, and sugar. Toast can be made on the cast-iron chargriller or camp toaster. There is a Weber and a portable braai. Full Circle trusts that this equipment is more than sufficient apparatus for guests to prepare all sorts of delicious meals.
The 300 m of tidal river frontage is approximately 120 m from the cottage. The deck and jetty at the river are for the sole use of cottage guests, who also have the use of a canoe, a paddle ski, and a SUP. Kob, Grunter, and Leerie are the most common fish caught.
Boat cruises or river-fishing excursions can be arranged at an additional cost. The availability of a skipper, the time of the tide, and the weather all influence boat excursions. Guests may bring their own boats. Should you wish to bring your own boat please notify your host.
There is a scenic, easy, flat walking trail that meanders through the property. Cyclists can leave Full Circle and explore many of the scenic roads in the area.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement and at an additional cost, provided their owners agree to the pet policy. The managers live on-site with their dogs (which are enclosed). Your hosts respect your privacy and are on hand to offer assistance when requested.
