Gnome Cottage is only a 5 minute walk away from the centre of Clarens with its many art galleries, restaurants, and interesting shops. Nearby, guests have access to a choice of marked hiking and cycling trails in the conservancy area and, not far away, are 2 golf courses, trout fishing, historic explorations that include fossil sites, dinosaur trails, and bushman paintings, horse riding and game viewing. Numerous other outdoor activities are also available, and a fun day trip to visit Afriski, a cultural village and Liphofung Caves in Lesotho, is very feasible but passports are needed.
