Description

Gold Rush is a self-catering backpackers situated in the small town of Kaapsehoop, 30.5 km from the city of Mbombela (Nelspruit). The backpackers offers 2 self-contained kitchens stocked with basic utensils for self-catering.

Accommodation is offered in 5 units. The first unit contains 3 single beds, a shower and toilet, a table and chairs, a kitchenette with utensils, a bar fridge, a microwave, and a 2-plate stove, and a TV with limited channels. The second unit contains 2 single beds and has access to a separate shower and toilet. The second unit also contains a small kitchenette with a microwave.

The third unit contains 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom, and has access to a shared kitchen. The fourth unit contains 3 single beds and has access to a shared bathroom and a shared kitchen. The fifth unit is a dorm room situated upstairs; this room contains 6 single beds and has a separate entrance. Guests in the dorm room have access to a shared kitchen, bathroom, and dining area. Linen is provided.

Gold Rush is ideal for backpackers visiting the area, or en route to another destination. Kaapsehoop is a small historical town. There are 3 hiking trails to choose from, waterfalls, lovely views from the escarpment, bird guiding by your host, downhill travels on scooters, or walking or mountain biking in the nearby forest. Guests can also visit Adam’s Calendar, an ancient stone circle, located 3.5 km away.
