Hartfell Farm offers self-catering cottages and is set in a forested valley near the village of Dullstroom in Mpumalanga, an easy three-hour drive from Gauteng or Limpopo. Situated 10 km from town on a dirt road which requires a high rise vehicle, ensuring undisturbed peace and tranquility for a group of friends or families.

The farm offers a choice of three secluded accommodation options, which one cottage is pet-friendly, set in the old oak and black wood forests. These options are Hamill's Lodge, Hartfell Cottage and Searles Cottage.

Hamill's Lodge is a spacious, well-furnished four-bedroom lodge that has a TV with selected DStv channels. Each bedroom is equipped with a double bed and a private entrance, and all bedrooms are connected to the central living area by wooden decks.

Hartfell Cottage is a spacious farmhouse that opens out onto an expansive lawn, but does not have a TV. The cottage offers a lovely view and access to one of the dams, while the other larger dams are within easy walking distance. This cottage comprises 3 bedrooms which are equipped with either double or two single beds, and bunk beds with a sleeper couch. This cottage has two bathrooms to share, and the open-plan kitchen is fully equipped to cook up a storm, a dining room and lounge area with an enormous fireplace for those cold misty days.

Searles Cottage offers magnificent views of the valley and the dam, and is within easy walking distance of the other dams on the farm. The cottage features tiled floors throughout and a fully equipped kitchen, as well as a TV with DStv connectivity to bring your own decoder and smart card. This cottage has three bedrooms, one en-suite with a king-size bed, the other two rooms are equipped with twin beds. There are also two bathrooms and an open-plan lounge leading into the dining room, that includes a beautiful stone fireplace.

The imposing mountains, rivers and grasslands of the Mpumalanga Highlands presents the opportunity for activities such as fishing, birding, hiking, horse riding, mountain biking and rock climbing to mention a few. Piet, the farm owner, is on hand to assist with his knowledge of the local fauna, flora and activities. Area hikes to our stunning waterfall and lookout points are a highlight for nature lovers while our surrounding forest offers a large variety of bird and plant life. The farm offers privacy, leisure walks and boasts five well-stocked fishing dams.
