Nestled an hour away from the bustling cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria, Imbabali Retreat & Venue in Hekpoort in Magaliesburg is a hidden gem located in the foothills of the majestic Magaliesberg Mountain Range, an area steeped in rich history and offering a myriad of outdoor activities.
Upon entering the property, one will find themselves surrounded by nature, plenty of trees and unspoilt land. A 350 m sand road leads to the guest cottages that overlook a small dam, ideal for fishing on a catch-and-release basis. The Magaliesburg mountains offer a magnificent backdrop, especially when the sun sets behind the mountains.
Comfortable self-catering accommodation is offered in 3 guest cottages. Each cottage comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 with 2 single beds and the other with 3 single beds, and a bathroom with a shower. Each cottage can accommodate up to 5 guests. Each cottage also comprises an open-plan lounge, a fully equipped kitchenette for self-catering, a private splash pool and braai facilities. Each cottage is equipped with bedding, a small bar fridge, a microwave, a kettle and toaster, a 2-plate stove, and cutlery and crockery. Guests are required to bring their own towels. Cleaning materials are supplied for the kitchen and each cottage is serviced daily. Guests have access to their own double shade port at the back of the cottage for parking.
The property is not pet friendly, as there are well-mannered small and large dogs, birds, ducks and chickens who roam the property freely at all times, and may come to say hello at some point. It is asked that the animals are treated with respect.
Imbabali Retreat and Venue offers a tranquil and relaxed environment with jungle gyms for the kiddies, and a restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and refreshments. Breakfast can be served at the cottage for an additional charge. A TV and free Wi-Fi are available at the restaurant or one can book this facility for conferences, meetings, functions, weddings, and team-building. Charcoal, wood and ice is available at an extra charge if needed.
Imbabali Retreat & Venue is a haven for nature enthusiasts, boasting an exceptionally diverse abundance of fauna, flora, and birdlife. The Magaliesberg, with its stunning mountain range and surrounding areas, is home to 450 species of birds, including the Cape Vulture, Black Stork, and White-backed Night Heron.
