Isandlwana Lodge is located in Battlefields, nestled among the rolling hills of historic battlefields. Cut into the rock face, the lodge was built in the shape of a shield, with a thatched roof and rock walls to resemble a traditional Zulu kraal.

Inspired by its location, Isandlwana's décor embodies the rich Zulu history and culture throughout the rooms and communal areas. The lodge offers 12 luxury bedrooms with sweeping views of the plains and mountains. The rooms are each furnished with a king-size bed; some of these rooms offer the option to convert to 2 single beds. There is an en-suite bathroom in each room that is fitted with a shower. Guests can enjoy the views from their private balconies.

The upper verandah is the ideal spot to enjoy sipping on sundowners with magnificent views, while skillfully prepared meals can be enjoyed in the high-ceiling dining room.

Although tours with Dalton are a must, guests can also retreat to the comfort of the library to delve deeper into the region’s history, unwind in the comfortable lounge and bar areas, or simply cool off in the rock pool and soak in the endless vistas.

Isandlwana Lodge is within easy reach of some of South Africa's major game reserves and an easy driving distance from Rorke's Drift and Anglo Boer sites.
