Very comfortable stay over. Highly recommended.

The room was luxurious - no kidding! Spacious and very comfortable; spotlessly clean and well-prepared. I was a little concerned at first that there was not a kitchenette in it, but the host showed us to the kitchen in the main house, just a door away from our room. The host made every effort to welcome us and make us feel at home.

The most beautiful cottages! Stylishly decorated, squeaky clean, quality linen and beds. We had the most comfortable stay. The host was so friendly and made excellent dinner recommendations. We travelled with two dogs, and it was absolutely hassle-free. Beautiful garden and just all around an absolute pleasure.

Jasmine Cottages se verblyf is net wat ons nodig gehad het om die lang pad tussen Gauteng en Oos-Londen te breek. Ons gasheer, Donald, was ongelooflik gasvry en het ons hartlik ontvang en sommer dadelik tuis laat voel. Die akkommodasie is vanuit die boonste rakke en ons het "lekke geslaap".

Lovely overnight stay.

Don is such a friendly host. Unfortunately, the property has no backup power and so this is not ideal in the current loadshedding situation. The power also pumps water so there was no water. Our host did inform us about this so it was not a problem but just something to keep in mind if booking the property.

A nice stop after a long time on the road.

Don received us with friendliness. The place is in a quiet part of town and we could get a good night's sleep in before our onward journey.

We had such a pleasant stay - our host reached out to us prior to arrival to wish us a safe trip, which we really appreciated. On arrival we received a warm and friendly welcome. Beautiful garden and well maintained buildings. The room was clean, neat and spacious. We loved all the attention to detail within the room. Will highly recommend this hidden gem.

Beautiful overnight stay.

We loved the time we spent here. The host, Don, was very friendly and a good host. The room was beautiful and it is obvious that a lot of care has been taken to make one's stay comfortable. A lazy sundowner on the verandah ended a busy but productive weekend for us. We will certainly consider this overnight stay on our travels again.

Daar was loadshedding waarvan die eienaar ons nie ingelig het nie en toe agv die loadshedding ook geen water om te stort.

Die ligging is oorkant informele nedersetting en voel onveilig. Ons kamer was binne in die huis en nie 'n cottage nie. Ligging voel onveilig. Ons het 'n kamer in die huis gekry wat baue na rook geruik het. Ons het gedink dat ons 'n private cottage gaan hê soos per die advertensie. Die dorpie is baie afgeleë en verwaarloos.

Lieflike oornagverblyf.

Pragtige, skoon en baie netjiese kothuisie met lieflike tuin. Don is 'n uitsonderlike gasheer wat uit sy pad gegaan het om ons en die twee honde se verblyf so gerieflik as moontlik te maak.

Peaceful and relaxing.

A lovely, peaceful stay. We arrived with a warm welcome by wonderful host Donald. Fresh fruit, tea, coffee and a selection of cereals were available in our cottage. The beds were comfortable and the whole cottage is spotless and clean. Had the best pizza down the road and met some lovely, friendly people. Had a wonderful break and will definitely visit again.

Has everything, and more, that you might require for a stopover.

Being provided with fresh fruit, milk in the fridge, wine and fresh flowers is very welcoming. Everything in the rooms was very comfortable and aethically pleasing. Would certainly stay here again if overnighting in Smithfield.

Jasmine cottages is in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, there was adequate hot water with a pump where other guesthouses in Smithfield had no water over the weekend. We felt at home and Donald made us feel welcome. Variety of breakfast foods such as cereal and fruit to nibble on. Beautiful garden, comfortable beds, clean rooms and linen.

So much attention to detail!

Jasmine cottages was an unexpected lovely stay in a town we usually just pass through. It is the perfect overnight stay, and Don is such a lovely host. There were more amenitites and thoughtful touches in the Jasmine cottages, than I have seen in a long time. Fresh fruit and chocolate on arrival, and even farm fresh milk and cereals. Surprised in the best way possible, great value for money, highly recommended.

3rd overnight stop on way from CT to Howick.

Jasmine Cottages was by far the most expensive of the 4 nights and the most disappointing. It is marketed as as an upmarket venue but it's got a bit of a run down feel about it. Load shedding is awful for everyone, but power was off in the morning and no option to make a cup of tea (a small gas burner would sort this). The water depends on electric pump which meant there was not a drop of water to brush my teeth in the morning and certainly no shower (even a cold one). Load shedding has been around long enough for some work arounds to be put in place for paying customers. Bathroom needs ventilation and has musty damp smell. Don was however a very decent and helpful chap.

Pretty environment, very warm on a cold day, pet friendly and secure. The perfect stop over in Smithfield and we have tried a number. We will be back.

Don was very welcoming and went out of his way to secure dinner for two weary travellers. Comfortable room - bed a little squeaky, but had a good night's rest.

Ons is met vriendelikheid ontvang en was op die hande gedra. Donald was baie behulpsaam. Die kombuis is goed toegerus, die leefarea gemaklik en die kamers ruim.

Halfweg-stop na Oos-Kaap.

Jasmine Cottages is 'n goeie oornagstop na die Oos-Kaap vanaf Gauteng. Die eenheid waarin ons geslaap het is nie op die foto's nie, en blyk om na die foto-sessie gebou te wees. Die betrokke eenheid slaap 5 mense, en is opgedeel in 2 gedeeltes, wat semi-privaat is. Een gedeelte slaap 3, en die ander slaap 2, geskei met 'n middeldeur, waarvan elk sy eie badkamer het. Die agterste gedeelte hiervan het wel werk nodig met die voordeur, wat deur reën beskadig is, en 'n swam groei na binne. Die eenheid se badkamer se dak het ook gelek, wat dadelik laat herstel is toe ons dit genoem het. Die buitekant van die gedeelte benodig ook afwerking en verf. Verder is die eenhede baie gerieflik ingerig, met koffie-maak geriewe, melk en vrugte. Aangename oornag-verblyf.

Great sleepover.

Very beautiful, modern place. Clean and beds very comfortable. Kitchen could do with a hotplate as there was only a microwave. Other than that it was a lovely stopover - was beautiful to see all the stars in the night!

Reeds die tweede keer wat ons daar oorbly. Alles is in puik toestand en eienaar baie vriendelik.

Niks ontbreek nie. Skoon. Netjies. Ruim.

Die wooneenheid is presies reg vir oornag, vir 'n dag of meer. Dis die eerste plek waar daar koffie, tee, suiker, vars melk, drie soorte ontbytgraan en vrugte beskikbaar is en dit nie B&B-verblyf is nie ─ dis selfsorg. Verder is daar 'n ligapparaat indien krag sou afgaan, asook muskietweerder. Daar is net mooi niks om oor te kla nie. Het heerlik oornag vir twee aande. Dis ook 'n stil gebied, geen geraas van bure of motors nie. Baie dankie Don West.

Donald was a gracious and kind host and the staff was friendly. The cottage we stayed in was pet-friendly, charming, and welcoming. Would 10/10 recommend and would love to stay here again.

Wat 'n verrassing!

Ek was onseker wat om verwag in Smithfield and by Jasmine, maar ek was verras! Jasmine was voorwaar 'n lekker plek om te bly. Dit was skoon, netjies en met alles wat ek nodig het. Met die inkoms was die vars vrugte op die tafel besonders.

Dit was absoluut smaakvol gemeubileerd en het heerlik geruik.

Als volgens my was perfek.

Voortreflik.

'n Galante, fynopgevoede gasheer wat presies weer hoeveel hy moet belangstel and doen voordat hy hom onttrek. Slaapgeriewe sonder gelyke.

Skoon en netjies. Stil omgewing.

Ons was vriendelik ontvang. Kamer was baie skoon. Bed het lekker geslaap en als wat nodig is was beskikbaar.

'n Pragtige verrassing!

Ons was aangenaam verras met Jasmine Cottage. Toe die deur voor ons oopgaan, kon ons nie glo wat ons sien nie! Pragtig versier en toegerus met al die noodsaaklikhede wat 'n mens aan kan dink. Regtig goed deurdink. Ons het nie die eienaar op aankoms ontmoet nie (weens 'n persoonlike probleem), maar sy warmte het weerspieël in die cottage. Ons het hom wel ontmoet die volgende dag. Ons het baie lekker gebly, en die ware plattelandse atmosfeer terdeë geniet!

Not what we had planned!

We specifically booked the Jasmine Cottage long in advance for 2 adults and our 3 dogs for our overnight stop. Jasmine Cottage was given to someone else and we were put into another cottage which was to a large extend still a construction site. We did not enjoy the fact that the cottage was in the process of being renovated and appeared to have someone else living in the space, with their toothbrush and used soaps in the bathroom, and food items in the fridge. I am sure that this cottage will be lovely once completed, but we were disappointed that this mess up came to our attention only 1 hour before arrival in Smithfield!

Kitchenette had coffee, tea, breakfast cereal and a fruit basket and ice in the freezer. The unit is beautifully decorated and DStv available.

Die eienaar, Don, het ons baie tuis laat voel en baie moeite gedoen. Ek sal sonder twyfel die verblyf aanbeveel.

Uitstekende diens, gerieflike goed-ingerigte kamer met mooi dekor en skoon wit linne, baie baie vriendelike eienaar.

'n Heerlike oorslaap gastehuis op pad na see bestemming - kan dit hoogs aanbeveel.

If you can think of it, it's there. It's more than your money could buy. I have never had such a lovely stay and with such welcoming people too. The room was above excellent and we enjoyed every little detail. I promise you you won't regret staying with Jasmine Cottages!

Die eienaar het goeie reëlings vooraf getref om uit te vind wanneer ek gaan aankom en gehelp om 'n restaurant te vind vir aandete.

Waarde vir geld.

Donald is die perfekte gasheer en het ons welkom laat voel. Die port het so bietjie gehelp vir die koue. Die ekstras soos melk, pap, tee en koffie en beskuit en vrugte rond alles perfek af. Ons kan hierdie plek beslis aanbeveel. Dit is die moeite werd om bietjie ompad te ry om hier te kom oornag. Ons sal beslis weer hier oornag.

So tuis soos by jou eie huis.

Don is n gasheer wat sy besoekers se belange op die hart dra. Ons het baie welkom gevoel. Die chalets was skoon en gerieflik. Sal definitief weer daar oorbly op pad van/na Oos-Kaap of besoek aan Vrystaat. Sterk aan te beveel.

One of the best overnight experiences ever!

This is 5 star accommodation. Everything you would ever need and more. Our host was friendly and accommodating and would go to any lengths to please. Tastefully decorated, neat and clean as a pin. A very pleasant experience.
