Description
Joburg Mountain Cottage is a self-catering garden cottage set on the mountainside in Mountain View, Johannesburg, and exudes charm and a spirit of adventure. The cottage is set in a spacious garden full of trees and birds, and looks out over Johannesburg’s Northern Suburbs.
The cottage is approached via a steep driveway and stairs. The cottage can accommodate up to 2 adults and 1 child and comprises 1 upstairs loft bedroom, 1 bathroom, and a downstairs open-plan kitchenette, dining and living area. The loft room is accessed via a ladder and contains a double bed and has extensive views of the mountain. The bathroom contains a shower, a toilet and a washbasin.
The kitchenette is fitted with a 2-plate mini-stove and oven, a bar fridge, microwave, kettle, and toaster. The dining area contains a 2-seater dining table and chairs. There is an additional single bed in the living area ideal for a child. The living area opens to a deck with an outdoor dining table and chairs, and a kettle braai facility. Enjoy watching weaver birds building their nests from the front deck.
The property has a solar electricity system, battery backup and a solar geyser. It also has a water reservoir to avoid water outages.
A few metres further up the mountain is a ‘koppie’ with a viewing deck that offers amazing views over Johannesburg's Northern Suburbs including Rosebank, Illovo and Sandton.
The property is located on an access-controlled road, and the cottage is very secure.
Mountain View is very central within Johannesburg and is 10 minutes from Rosebank, the CBD and Charlotte Maxeke Hospital. It is 15 minutes from Sandton and Wits University.
