Situated in the leafy suburb of Gardens, right behind the Mount Nelson hotel and painted in the same famous pink colour, the Lady Hamilton was named after Lord Nelson’s beautiful mistress, Lady Emma Hamilton.
The hotel offers 78 comfortable en-suite rooms, either with views of Table Mountain or over the city. All rooms have air-conditioning, TV and a safety deposit box. The hotel also offers 2 family rooms sleeping 4 persons each. A laundry and dry cleaning service are available.
Table Mountain towers above Gardens and the cable car is a short drive away. The city centre by way of the Company Gardens and the historic Parliament is a brisk 15-minute walk away.
There is a computer available for guests to use, as well as wireless internet access in the reception area. A unique feature of the Lady Hamilton is the lovely pool which is totally protected against the wind and forms the heart of the property.
Gardens is located right above the city centre and is one of Cape Town’s oldest suburbs. The Lady Hamilton, built in the early 1950’s, has a distinctly colonial feel and is surrounded by historical buildings. It is within walking distance of vibrant Kloof Street with its trendy and quaint shops, deli’s, top restaurants and coffee shops.
