Situated close to Rankin's Pass, Langkloof 1919 offers a lovely getaway on a working farm in the Waterberg Biosphere. The farm was bought in 1919 and the farmhouse was built in 1921. It has been restored to recall the quiet and remote farm life of the early nineteenth century, with added modern conveniences that do not impose on the atmosphere of a bygone era.
This timeless, old farmhouse ideally suits 2 couples or a small family looking for a quiet getaway. The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a bath, and overlooks the Rankinspas valley. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and en-suite shower with a view of the hill with its resident klipspringers and reedbucks.
The house offers 2 kitchens, one with a working wood-burning stove, and one with an electric and gas combination stove. Fridge, cutlery and crockery, pots and pans, as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities are available and the kitchens overlook the stone bedding with seasonal herbs.
The house has a wrap-around patio to make the most of every view and weather condition. On the back patio, there is a built-in braai, and an open-air braai area is also available on the premises.
Langkloof 1919 offers a slow living lifestyle with hiking and swimming, and the opportunity for long-distance mountain biking in the Waterberg.
