Super relaxing "quaint" cottage.

Stayed in the cottage. Beautiful grounds. Totally relaxing. Perfect host! About 650m walk to The Red Rooster and bakery. Hot water even during power outages. Cottage-style furnishings - overused cliche of "quaint" applies. Carpets and bath mats need a good clean or replacement. Same with the shower curtain. Not for the modernist or minimalist. Good for animal lovers.

Ons het heerlik ontspan, Wendy het alles gedoen om te verseker dat ons alles het wat ons benodig. Die huis en kothuis het 'n pragtige atmosfeer.

Wendy, the host, is such a beautiful person, and her sense of style and attention to detail is a must to experience. I loved the quaint, well-equipped, and superbly decorated cottage. It was such a memorable place to visit and will return next year.

Sjarmante verblyf op unieke dorp.

'n Kuier in hierdie besonderse huis met sy ouwêreldse sjarme is 'n verkwikkende ondervinding. Heerlike ontbyte en 'n knetterende kaggelvuur teen die winterkoue - wat kan 'n mens meer vra.

Dit was so lekker snoesig, Laventaba gastehuis vat jou terug in tyd. Sal enige tyd weer daar oornag.

Fantastic arty accommodation with romantic feel and touches. Hostess very friendly and helpful.

We tried Wakkerstroom as a stopover destination on our way to Johannesburg having stayed in Harrismith in the past. The accommodation was what we hoped for - being a very arty and friendly chalet. Wendy was very friendly and helpful phoning us in the morning to assist us in our route selection and when we got there giving us some advice on where to eat. Some comments: It would be great if the chalet could have a small bath where the clothes rail is for those cold winter nights!

Wakkerstroom is a little town with lots of history and Laventaba Guest House reflects exactly that. The owner was friendly and kind. The breakfast was unique and delightful.

Wendy was die perfekte gasvrou. Van die warm ontvangs met die intrapslag tot met ons vertrek het sy ons tuis laat voel. Die kamers is keurig versorg en gemeubileer. Sal beslis aanbeveel!

Ons was hartlik verwelkom en het dadelik tuis gevoel. Die huis het 'n warm atmosfeer, kamers is netjies en ruim en die personeel het uit hul pad gegaan om ons behoeftes te vervul. Laventaba Guest House sal ons definitief weer sien!
