Leeurivier-onder-die-Hoogte are situated 12 km from Swellendam and offers rustic-rural accommodation surrounded by the jagged peaks of the Langeberg Mountains.

Die Plaashuisie has 1 bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom that is fitted with a shower. There are an open-plan kitchen and a living room with a fireplace and TV. In summer, guests will find themselves outdoors braaing in front of the cottage, or heading down to the Leeurivier, which is about 300 m away. This unit is ideal for couples and honeymooners. The unit has lots of character and a mixture of antique and modern comfort adds to its charm.

Die Hoenderhok is the larger of the 2 units and is perfect for a small family. Die Hoenderhok is a character-packed unit. Inside, the old-world charm carries through, with exposed log beams, old sash windows, screed floors and a compact and cosy ambience. There is a living room with fireplace and flat screen TV with DStv. Guests need to bring their own card as the channels are limited. Leading off to the side is the open-plan kitchen with small dining nook attached. The bathroom has a shower and toilet. Up a rustic stairway brings guests to a cosy loft with 2 bedrooms. One room has twin beds and the other room a double bed.

Both units were built in the late 1800’s and recently restored by the owner and host. The cottages are surrounded by 25-hectare of farmland.

With the buzzing town of Swellendam a mere 12 km down the road, there are lots of country character and grand vistas over the horizon. The Overberg region is one of the fast-growing regions in the Western Cape, situated within easy driving distance of Cape Town. The Overberg is a region full of vineyards, forests, fynbos, grain fields, beaches, and rugged coastline.
