Description

Kadie's Landing House is a thatched self-catering family home set on the east bank of the Breede River in Malagas. The house offers unparalleled privacy and seclusion with access to large areas of private farmland for walking, cycling, bird watching and small game sighting. It has arguably one of the best sunset views on the river.

The large holiday house is built for 1 to 3 families sharing and can accommodate up to 8 adults and 4 children. There are 6 bedrooms including a designated kids' bedroom in the house, and 3 bathrooms.

The main bedroom is downstairs and contains a queen-size bed, its own lounge area with a fireplace, a walk-in dressing room, and an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath and a shower, a toilet, a washbasin and a bidet. The second, third, fourth and fifth bedrooms are located upstairs. The second bedroom contains a double bed, the third bedroom contains a queen-size bed, the fourth bedroom contains a double bed, and the fifth bedroom contains a double bed. The sixth bedroom is the designated kids' room with 2 single beds and a bunk bed. These rooms share a bathroom with a bath and a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. The sixth bedroom is a separate outside room, built as a domestics quarters, and ideal for a teenager that wants their own space or an elderly parent who would like some quiet time and not have to handle stairs. The room contains a single bed and its own shower en suite with a toilet and washbasin.

There is an upstairs TV lounge that features a TV with a DVD player. Various DVDs and board games are available. There is a DStv connection, should guests wish to bring their own Smart card with them. Uncapped Wi-Fi is available for an additional fee.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and is equipped with 2 fridge-freezers, an additional fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, kettle and a toaster. The downstairs lounge features comfortable seating and a fireplace. The dining area contains an 8-seater dining table and chairs. The dining area and lounge are open to a large covered patio with a 12-seater dining table, a 4-seater wine barrel table with stools, seating, and a built-in braai with 2 potjie pots.

The thatched roof provides natural insulation keeping the house cool during the hot summer days and warm on the cold winter nights. With its large patio and built-in braai, you can enjoy the panoramic views of the river, the Potberg and stunning sunsets while still keeping an eye on your fishing rods on the jetty.

The home is surrounded by 22.5-hectares of land, which was once used as a working farm for raising baby ostriches. It is also one of the standby landing areas for the SS Kadie, while waiting for tides on her passage up to Malgas.
