Description

Madeira Berghuis is a working farm, situated 13 km from Clarens, between the most beautiful Eastern Free State mountains, Madeira Berghuis offers guests a relaxing, self-catering getaway with beautiful views.

The Berghuis has accommodation for up to 6 people, the off-the-grid house does not have electricity and has limited cellphone reception. It comprises 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, and a living area that opens onto a covered stoep. One of the bedrooms contains a queen-size bed and the second and third bedroom is furnished with a double bed. Guests share the use of a bathroom fitted with a shower and a toilet. Warm water bottles and bedding are provided, and guests please need to bring their own towels.

The kitchen is equipped with a gas fridge, a 2-plate gas stove, and a wood-fired oven. Candleholders and 1 set of candles are provided, and guests please need to bring their own additional candles, lamps and flashlights. Guests can relax in the lounge in front of the cosy fireplace, and the living area opens onto a covered stoep with a built-in braai area.

Hot water is provided by a gas geyser and the house is cleaned daily. Wood is available on request at an extra cost, but must be arranged in advance. However, guests are welcome to bring their own.
