Description
Makhato Lodge 12 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 12 can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room. Each bedroom contains a king-size bed, air-conditioning, and a ceiling fan. Both rooms open to a central en-suite bathroom with a large family bath, a shower, twin washbasins, and their own private toilet.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and is fitted with a stove and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. The dining area contains an 8-seater dining table and chairs. The air-conditioned living area offers comfortable seating, a fireplace, and a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels.
The lodge has a thatched lapa with a built-in braai, prep sink, a dining table and seating, and an attached bathroom. There is also an outside boma with a fire pit. Covered carport parking is provided for 2 vehicles.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
