Description
Makhato Lodge 21 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 21 can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living room. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, a toilet and a washbasin. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds and a shower en suite with a toilet and washbasin. The third bedroom contains 2 single beds and a shower en suite. There are ceiling fans in all the bedrooms.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and includes a stove and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, and toaster. There is a 6-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge offers comfortable seating and a ceiling fan. The house has a thatched lapa with outdoor dining furniture and a built-in braai. There is also a boma with a firepit.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
