Description
Makhato Lodge 69 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 69 can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an upstairs loft, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath, a shower, a toilet and twin washbasins. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed and the third bedroom contains 2 single beds. There are 2 additional single beds in the upstairs loft area, which opens to a covered balcony.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a stove and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. The dining area contains a 6-seater dining table. The lounge contains seating and a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. The living area opens to a covered patio with outdoor dining furniture. There is also a boma with a firepit and a built-in braai. Carport parking is available.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
