Description

Makonde Lodge and Cottage is situated only 13 km from Dullstroom and offers lovely accommodation, ideally suited for a family, weekend breakaway. Only 4x4 vehicles will be able to reach the accommodation.

The accommodation consists of a Main Lodge and a separate Cottage.

The Main Lodge is a 3-bedroom, thatch farmhouse and can accommodate up to 12 guests at a time. Each room is equipped with a double bed and a bunk bed for children. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, bath, toilet and basin. The other rooms share a bathroom fitted with a bath, toilet and basin. There are electric blankets available for the winter months.

The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, fridge-freezer, large gas stove and oven, washing machine and tumble dryer. It also features coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery.

A built-in fireplace dominates a large comfortable lounge with a TV and selected DStv channels and a DVD player. It has a separate dining room with an 8-seater dining table which leads off the kitchen, which also has dining facilities for a further 6 guests.

A Weber braai and potjie facilities are available on the patio.

The lodge offers one a sense of African living in a well-manicured garden with views towards the lake.

The Cottage overlooks the dam and comprises an open-plan bedroom fitted with a queen-size bed. The separate bathroom has a spa bath and a shower.

The kitchen is equipped with a 4-plate gas stove, fridge and microwave, making it ideal for preparing small meals. It also has a breakfast nook where guests can enjoy their meals.

The lounge has comfortable seating, a fireplace and a TV with selected DStv channels and an entertainment system.

It boasts a covered patio and a deck with lovely views.

Fishing is available on the property and guests are allowed to keep 1 fish per fishing rod.

Complimentary firewood is supplied for braais and fireplaces.
