Mangwa bied goeie waarde vir geld en voel veilig met goeie diens ervaring.

Die eenheid was baie goed ingerig. Die fasiliteite, tuine, restaurant is baie netjies en instand gehou. Die diens in die restaurant was baie goed en die etes was uitstekend. Ons was egter uiters teleurgesteld met die sunset safari drive. Die pad na Mangwa Valley game lodge is nie ontoeganklik met 'n gewone sedan voertuig nie, maar dit is 'n sinkplaatpad wat ek nie graag weer sal ry nie.

Disappointing but we still made the most of it.

We had a good stay but the place is quite disappointing in many respects. Not great value for money. The food was subpar for a 4-star hotel, and the place could do with more activities and things to do.

Was ok maar sal nie weer gaan of vir vriende aanbeveel.

Ons het tieners by ons gehad en by die plek self was daar nie veel om te doen nie. Jy kan nie self op ryritte gaan nie, so jy moet dan verdere onkostes aangaan om in Dinokeng te gaan ry. Daar was ook bure wat baie lawaai gemaak het. Sekuriteit moes hulle kom stilmaak nadat ons hulle moes kontak.

Too expensive for what you get. The food was so-so.

The perfect spot for peace and quiet.

Firstly, we would like to thank the team at Mangwa Valley Game Lodge & Spa for their hospitality. We had a really peaceful and lovely stay. They are all so helpful in what they do! Patrick gave us a lovely morning bush drive and kept us informed on all the animal happenings, which we enjoyed very much. Thank you to Proxy and the team for arranging a little surprise for my partner and me as we were celebrating our anniversary. They did a wonderful job . We stayed in the luxury tent 4, and it was in the perfect spot, with the loveliest of views. There are a few small things I'd like to mention but are not deal breakers and are fixable. To possibly have a small bar fridge/cooler in the tents, just to keep bottles of water cool, etc. Hooks in the bathroom area to hang towels after showering or washing hands, etc . Then lastly, the pools were a bit cloudy looking but an absolute must on a hot day with one of their yummy cocktails. Our stay was short, so I wasn't able to squeeze in a spa session, so I can't comment on that portion. Other than that, the food, drinks, and animals were fantastic. Teleurstellend.

Die kamer was 'n groot teleurstelling. Dit was glad nie so luuks soos geadverteer nie. Die duvet op die bed was te klein vir die grootte van die bed. Daar was geen regte beweegruimte nie. Daar was geen WiFi in die kamer nie. Die kos was altyd koud en dieselfde. Ons het gegaan vir die rus en vrede, maar deur die dag is daar gras gesny.

Enjoyable for a short stay.

Management told me to fit in or fall out.

I have stayed at Mangwa Valley Game Lodge & Spa a few times, so I decided it would be a nice, relaxed place to spend a few days over New Year. The food was a bit less varied than on previous trips, but still good. My wife, my son, and I stayed in a room with no mini fridge provided, which was an oversight on my end, but be warned. The room itself is adequate, although not spacious, but you aren't there for the room so it's okay. The major downside was the management. There was a very disruptive group staying in one of the chalets, surrounded by 2 other chalets and 5 rooms. They blasted their music until the early hours on New Year's, which was to be expected I guess. The main issue was the next day, from 7 in the morning when they woke up, until 16:30 when I told management to refund my last night and got out of there, they blasted their music. It was so loud you could hear it at reception. This means the entire camp, the rooms, the chalets, the communal pool, the bar, and all the way to reception you could hear it. It wasn't soft. The room next to me demanded to be moved, the chalets next to them left, I complained 4 times throughout the day and nothing was done. They were told to turn it down, and when they didn't, they were just told to move to the communal area to play the music?! Management wanted me to move to the other side of the lodge, into a tent, as the only option? I'm not sure why banning the music wasn't an option, but there you go. I refused, and that was it. Either I move my family away from the noise (impossible in the communal area), or accept it? If you want to have the entire lodge to yourself, just be as loud and disrespectful as possible to everyone around you, and management will reward you by moving everyone else away. Pro tips.

Awesome vakansie.

Die staff was baie vriendelik en behulpzaam. Kos was baie lekker ontbyt en aandete. Safari rit uit die boonste rakke, baie diere gesien. Die oord is net bietjie donker. 'n Paar ligte sal help.

We should be treated the same as we pay the same money with other guests.

It was okay until other guests complained about us.

Relaxing and enjoyable.

We enjoyed the resort and the unit, also the bucks roaming around. The game driving was good.

Tranquil wildlife watching.

What a peaceful stay at Mangwa Valley Game Lodge & Spa. To anyone interested in exotic and less seen wildlife, this place is for you. From golden wildebeest, cappuccino springbok to sable. Honestly saw more wildlife at Mangwa Valley Game Lodge & Spa than in the nature reserve. The staff are really friendly, the manager in particular made us feel extremely welcome and cared for. Oh, and the food. May they never fire the chef!

Baie lekker gekuier.

Vriendelike personeel en baie netjies. Plekke word goed instand gehou. Net jammer yskassie was te klein vir ses mense se bederfbare kos goedjies.

Mangwa Valley was 'n fees om by te bly. Die kamers was altyd skoon en die kos was 'n 10/10.

Die klientediens was puik. Hulle het ons so mooi gehelp met alles, selfs as ons laat was. Die kos na ons kamer toe gebring, niks was nooit te veel moeite vir hulle gewees nie. Sal vir seker volgende keer weer by hulle bespreek.

Enjoyable, value for money, fun.

Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and always available. The food was incredibly delicious, and the lodge was beautiful. I will definitely go back. Special thank you to Yvonne at reception.

Ongelooflike wegbreek.

Was net wat ek nodig gehad het! Die mense was vriendelik en gaaf, die kos was ongelooflik lekker, alles was skoon en netjies, en die ekstras (spa en wildsrit) was wonderlik. Die rustigheid en natuurskoon is onbeskryflik. Ek sal definitief terug wees.

Swak toegerus, bure het lawaai, chalets kort aandag.

Ons het amper R4000 per nag betaal vir die 8 sleeper chalet. Kombuis geriewe/toerusting ontbreek. Beddens, linne, gordyne, sitkamerbanke is baie oud en verwaarloos. Die stort/bad was onmoontlik om te gebruik. Jy verbrand jou of yskoud. Mense in ander chalet het die Vrydagaand tot 3am klipharde musiek gespeel, nadat ek 3 keer die bestuurder gebel het en daaroor gekla het. Dit is duidelik in die reëls dat geen harde musiek toegelaat word nie en dat sekuriteit jou sal vra om die perseel te verlaat indien jy nie die reëls nakom nie. Dit het wel nie gebeur nie en het die partytjie Saterdagaand hervat.

Heerlik ontspannend.

Personeel baie vriendelik en behulpsaam. Proxy en Paul was sterre met al die reëlings.

Did not disappoint.

Lovely venue, child friendly, didn't use the restaurant or spa, so can't comment on those. The self-catering units have all the necessary equipment.

Quiet, large chalet, delicious food.

Proxy and Yvonne made us feel welcome from the start, looked well after us, staff restaurant was friendly and helpful, breakfast and supper were delicious, and spacious rooms, and animals around chalets entertained us! Thomas with his heart for the rhino and other wild made our game drive the best ever! Will go again.

Beautiful place, friendly staff, fresh, delicious, and animals are amazing!

We were welcomed by Yvonne and Proxy, both always available when needed to answer questions, Gamedrive with Thomas was outstanding, and information was given we never knew! Saw the rhino family, giraffes, golden wildebeest, and all others. We enjoyed the animals visiting our chalet the most. Large clean rooms and bathrooms, chalet worth our money.

Teleurstellend

Eetgery weg/ontbreek. Netheid nie baie goed nie.

Alles was volgeboek gewees en daar was hare in die bed gewees. Sal nie kan rus daar nie, want daar word harde musiek gespeel en geraas.

As dit nie vir staff was nie, was dit baie erger gewees. Daar is nie baie wild om te sien nie en jy word nie met vars handdoeke voorsien elke oggend nie.

Awesome long weekend.

Brilliant accommodation in the Bush, friendly staff. Chalet's could do with an adequate number of chairs for the number of guests. Some of the finishes are a bit worn and could do with replacement - floor (new coat of paint) and taps and the braai are seriously in need of being replaced.

Wat 'n wonderlike ervaring. Die renoster het elke middag kom kuier by die dam wat absoluut fantasties was.

Alles was wonderlik. Die kos by die restaurant was heerlik en die hele naweek was fantasies. Dit was so stil en rustig en baie privaat. Ons het die Jacuzzi baie geniet. Die enigste probleem wat ons ervaar het is die stort het nie goed gewerk nie. Ons moes die water baie lank laat loop het voordat dit warm geword het wat baie water gemors het en die stort was een oomblik warm en dan die volgende oomblik koud. Ons kon die water nie op 'n lekker temperatuur kry nie om te stort. Verder was dit 'n perfekte naweek en sal definitief weer terug kom.

Etes was altyd laat.

Ontbyt en aandete was laat elke aand. Was besig om skoon te maak terwyul mens inloop vir etenstyd. Nooit melk by koffiestatsie nie, en nooit water in die kamer volgemaak nie.

Baie lakker.

Vreeslik lekker en baie geniet.

Heerlik.

Dit was 'n wonderlike naweek saam met my gesin, en Proxy en sy span is baie vriendelik en behulpsaam. Sal beslis weer besoek.

Pragtige area, heerlike rustige atmosfeer.

Truly disappointed.

I’ve stayed for 3 nights at another lodge in Dinokeng for half the price I paid at Mangwa. There everything was perfect and clean! At Mangwa om the other hand not so much! When we arrived I specifically asked what the restaurant times are. We arrived for lunch only to be advised that more of half your menu is not available. The when wanting to order early dinner I was advised that there is only a chef available from 7pm. Not what was communicated to me. When wanting to go to bed all the beds were filthy with silverfish! Not 1 not 2! A lot! This is disgusting! I have no where else to go now or I would have! Please expect me tomorrow. It is disappointing to pay a lot of money and get this in return. Oh and I forgot to add we got a fly wrapped up in cling wrap in our desert. They will not see me in the future and recommend you seek alternative accommodation.

Lovely settings and accommodation. Spacious and clean. The staff were amazing and friendly.

The only issue is the location description when they say "in the heart of Dinokeng Game reserve" you expect it to be "inside" the reserve and it is not.

Overall a good stay, room was clean and restaurant area lovely. Meals were very nice.

The only concern was the hot water. There was not enough hot water for 2 people to enjoy a decent shower, a bath was definitely out of the question. On our last day, we were getting up to shower, etc only to find electric shocks from the taps, including the shower floor. We tested the taps for the bath and got the same electric shock - this is something that should not be happening at all. We were not notified of it, just told it seems to be a problem for other people too? Other than the lack of hot water and electric shocks it's a lovely venue.

Excellent food, hospitality and service.

Very relaxing stay in the bushveld. Highly recommended.

As 6 bush-spoilt adults we were pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness and the amenities of our attractive chalet. Just driving into Dinokeng we saw so much game and we enjoyed the resident nyala and springbok around our camp.

The only problem we had was with the hot water turning ice cold very quickly. We were given a new gas bottle which improved it quite a bit. We felt steps leading down to the pit and braai area would greatly improve accessibility to that area, instead of having to walk around to the steps to the side of the stoep.

Absolutely brilliant stay.

Staff were so friendly, welcomed us with open arms and did everything they could to make our stay wonderful.

Lovely place, and nice lay out of the property.

This is really a nice lodge, but there is a desperate need for maintenance and touch-up work to be done. Self-catering houses can really use some upgrade in kitchen. New microwave, bigger fridge/freezer (it is way too small for 6 people). Definitely oven and stove, more cutlery and crockery. The outside braai is a mess - you can not braai in that drum as the coals are too low to actually get the meat done. Very very disappointing that the spa was under renovations - they need to tell people that before you book. That is a big reason why we booked here. Would really love to go back this year - but maintenance first.

Attention to detail is not there.

If they state no loud music is to be played, then they must abide by those rules.

Exceptional service - relaxed stay!

Thank you for superb service and attention to detail. We were so well looked after we stayed in Tent 4. Please consider changing the bed to a newer, firmer bed. The team of Proxy, Benjamin, Paul etc were an absolute asset/they made our stay. It was new year - so we do understand the noisy neighbours. We will definitely return.

Rustige omgewing. Bied genoeg aktiwiteite aan. Die diens is uitstekend. Kos was baie goed voorberei en vars. Wildrit was goed en wildbewaarder ken sy omgewing. Tent het geen laaie nie. Bed kort nuwe matras.

Fantastic place and great location.

The staff is so friendly and helpful, they made the stay great. The room was neat and tidy with a great view. The food was fantastic so I really can't complain about anything the lodge has to offer. We even went on a mountain bike game view which was fantastic. The one major problem we had is that a group of 6 ladies checked in and played loud music, singing and shouting until I had to call management at 2 in the moring, later at at around 10 am they were back at it again. I checked out a day earlier as the lodge didn't deal with the issue and I could see we will get no rest for the rest of the day and the evening. That was very dissapointing.

Ons verwagtinge is oortref.

Ons het spesifiek 'n plek gesoek wat oggend- en aandete insluit. Dit was uit die boonste rakke gewees, ons het so lekker geëet. Al die staf is baie vriendelik, hulle glimlagte is so aansteeklik. Hulle het uit hulle pad gegaan toe ek vra of hulle iets spesiaal sal doen omrede dit ons tweede huweliksherdenking is. Die aand het hulle 'n tafel spesiaal vir ons gedek, toe ons in die kamer kom het hulle dit so mooi gemaak en die volgende oggend het hulle weer spesiaal vir ons 'n tafel gedek. Daar is so baie verskillende wild op die lodge, dit was vir seker 'n bonus om so baie diere te sien omdat ons so baie van die natuur hou. Ons het elke oomblik geniet by Mangwa Valley Game Lodge. Dankie Proxy, Kenny, Chad en die res van die span vir julle gasvryheid.

Uitstekende kos en vriendelike personeel.

Saterdag het 8 vrouens opgedaag met 'n boom box en het so gedrink en geskree en geraas met luide misiek. Hulle het twee keer se versoek van bestuur om nie te raas nie, ignoreer. Dit was hulle reg om Vrouedag so te vier. 'n Ander paartjie het ons om verskoning gevra namens die groep dronk vrouens. Die paartjie het na die restaurant beweeg om die geraas te vermy. Vind vooraf uit of daar groepe is wat jou rus gaan verstoor.

Personeel baie professioneel en dis heerlik om so naby die natuur te wees.

Die prente op die webblad is misleidend - die chalets is nie naby die watergat nie, daar is geen oond in die chalets nie. Die chalets is nie baie goed toegerus nie - beslis nie op die standaard van 4 sterre nie! En die skoonmaker het baie half skoongemaak - nie eenkeer die badkamers skoongemaak nie, en ons moes vra dat sy asb die slaapkamers se vloere vee en die beddens opmaak. Sy het net so hier en daar iets reggetrek. Die quad bikes het geen veiligheidsbriefing gedoen nie - occupational health and safety was totaal agterwee gelaat. Daar is nie groot 5 nie - net 2. Daar is geen game drive wat jou die Groot 5 laat sien nie. Vir die geld wat ek betaal het was dit eintlik 'n baie teleurstellende ervaring. Gaste was toegelaat om tot 01:00 in die oggend nog te lawaai. Regtig nie aangenaam gewees nie. Maar die personeel was absoluut uitstekend - veral Proxy by ontvangs en Mr Thomas wat ons wildrit hanteer het. Uitstekende mense!

Ontspannend

Die chalet was baie netjies en skoon. Daar is ’n baie ontspannende atmosfeer. Baie goeie kliëntediens.

Beautiful view of Dinokeng Nature Reserve, excellent staff and services.

We stayed in Chalet 6, everything was neat and exceeded our expectations.

False advertising, not value for money, lack of amenities.

The patio door never locked, the one window pane was badly cracked. There were stains on the sheets and the towels were all frayed. It was not serviced, they only washed the dishes and mopped the floor at around 2pm if you were lucky. There were only 2 quads working and one broke down while out in the reserve. No refund given. The table tennis table was broken and bats were completely wrecked. The restaurant menu only had sandwiches available. There was no ice cream for milkshakes. There were no potatoes to buy fries. The curio shop is a storeroom and the spa is not operational at all. Wood is way overpriced, R50 a bag. All the pictures on the web show a boma in front of the unit, this is false, only the 8 sleeper has a boma. Never once in 6 days saw any of the owners.

Lekker rustige kuier.

Ek het gedink die lodge is in die Groot 5 area. Ek was nie bewus dat ons nie selfry-ritte kon doen nie.

Gekies vir spesiale geleentheid saam met eggenote oor spa. Impak van COVID-19 duidelik.

Die spa-fasiliteit is omskep in 'n selfsorg-eenheid en vervang met 'n "treatment room". Dit sonder enige kommunikasie. Link op webwerf na foto's van spa intussen verwyder. Nie eers musiek in "spa" nie. Vals verwagtinge is geskep met advertensie. Basiese goed nie in plek nie, geen handdoeke nie, geen gebottelde water nie, wat die norm is vir 'n 4-ster plek. Kos baie lekker maar maak nie op vir onvervulde verwagtinge nie. Die game drive is 'n mors van geld. Mangwa het sy eie grensdraad en daar is nie Groot Vyf nie. Weereens gevang met slim bemarking en foto's van goeie ou dae.

Teleurstellende diens.

Met aankoms was daar 'n groep mense in die huisie langs ons besig om baie luidrugtig te kuier en musiek te speel. Ons het die bestuur op verskeie geleenthede versoek om die gaste te vra om die musiek af te skakel. Ons het "bos" toe gegaan vir rus en vrede en om die natuur te geniet. Die musiek en kuiery het tot na 23:00 aangehou. Die terme en voorwaardes van die verblyf dui baie duidelik dat harde musiek ens. nie toelaatbaar is nie. Die bestuur wou nie of het nie die probleem opgelos nie.

Oor die algemeen uitstekend.

Was baie teleurgesteld, op hul webtuiste maak hulle aanspraak op die groot 5. Met aankoms by hek word jy gewaarsku jy betree groot 5 "territory". Ons book 'n game drive met die Big 5 in gedagte, net om mee gedeel te word op die voertuig daar is net 2 van die groot 5.

Heerlike naweekwegbreek uit Pretoria.

Pragtige lodge met besonderse vriendelike diens. Sal vir seker weer kom.

Dit was vreeslik lekker by Mangwa. Ons was by die chalet met die Jacuzzi en buite kombuis. Kos was heerlik en die braai-ete net so wonderlik. Quadbike-rit is 'n moet. Baie geniet. Sal dit enige tyd aanbeveel.

Geen orde in lodge nie. Ignoreer absoluut al die reëls wat geplaas is rondom drank en musiek.

Baie nice plek met baie goeie diens, maar die bogenoemde is ek baie hartseer oor.

Perfekte naweekwegbreek naby Gauteng.

Perfek vir 2 nagte. Uitstekende kliëntediens. Vele aktiwiteite vir hele gesin. Ruim akkommodasie.

It was relaxing.

I will however not recommend the spa. They need to have a look at the towels they are using and the massage oil. The towels had a very strong smell of old oil and it was not a smell you would expect in a spa.

I very seldom read the 5 star reviews, I am very particular as to where we go to relax, I belief my opinion can be trusted.

This weekend exceeded my expectations by far, I asked for some snacks on arrival, rose pebbles after dinner and chocolate in the room. Well done guys, absolutely lovely. The boma surprise dinner was wonderful. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Rooms clean, very neat with detailed interior. To the owners, a place to be proud of and staff you can count on!
