- 12 Harbour Heights Close, Simon's Town, Cape Town, 7975, Western Cape
Simon's Town is rich in history and culture, with many landmarks and monuments to visit. The South African Navy is also based here so the occasional submarine or frigate can be seen in the Bay. The town is located 20 minutes away from the Cape Point National Park and the Cape of Good Hope with its beautiful and unique Fynbos, lighthouses and hiking trails: a must-see for anyone visiting our area.
False Bay is also home to the Marine Big 5 - whales, sharks, seals, dolphins, penguins. If you travel between May and October, you might be lucky to see all of these when you visit our beautiful region. Kayaking in the bay is a popular way to see the permanent colony of African Penguins that have resided at Boulders Beach since 1985. The more adventurous like to experience shark cage diving off Seal Island located in the middle of False Bay, or rent a water bike or SUP for an hour to explore the harbour on your own.
Mariner Guesthouse recommends an early morning walk on the waterfall mountain trail, followed by our fantastic breakfast, some shopping in our quaint village or a visit to one of the many museums. Enjoy a satisfying seafood lunch or dinner at one of the many excellent restaurants nearby. Not to mention the various sheltered and safe swimming beaches and tidal pools, scuba or free diving or Cave Golfing at Scratch Patch Mineral World. Make sure to stay at least a few days to experience it all!
