Description
Located in the Limpopo Province, Maroelani Reserve offers guests a luxurious and romantic bush experience, approximately 16 km from Hoedspruit.
The lodge has large glass folding doors which offer panoramic views of the Drakensberg mountains and over the dam, and offers guests a choice of units that can sleep between 2 to 6 people; the Treehouse Villas, the Honeymoon Bush Villa, and the Luxury Bush House.
Each of the lovely Treehouse Villas is built 3-metres in the air and have large glass doors to enhance the natural light. Each of the Treehouse Villas is furnished with a king-size bed, has an en-suite bathroom and an outdoor shower, and opens onto a wooden deck with a hammock, overlooking the mountains and bush.
The Honeymoon Bush Villa is located 2.5 km from the main lodge, and guests will be transferred to and from the villa to the lodge for meals and game drives. The villa is furnished with a king-size bed, children’s beds can be arranged for children under the age of 10, and has a private full bathroom and a lovely outdoor shower in the garden. Guests have exclusive use of a private swimming pool overlooking the surroundings.
The Luxury Bush House is ideal for a family of 4 adults and 2 children, and is furnished with 2 queen-size beds, as well as a sleeper couch, and has a full bathroom. The house has a small kitchen that is fully equipped for self-catering, and a private game viewer and guide is available for guests to use.
This romantic honeymoon suite is furnished with a queen-size bed and has a sitting area and balcony and boasts with a riverbed view where all kinds of wildlife can be seen as well as frequent visits by leopards. The unit has an open-plan bathroom that is fitted with a luxurious bath, the unit also has an outdoor shower and private plunge pool.
Guests can relax in the rim-flow pool at the main lodge, enjoy a drink at the pool bar or relax in a sun lounger by the dam, and watch the stars at night from the boma. Well trained and behaved pets are also welcome with prior arrangements, and secure parking is provided.
The lovely Maroelani Reserve also offers sunset cruises, picnics, walking safaris, catch-and-release fishing, or just view the 5 dams that is home to a variety of bird species ranging from saddle-billed storks and yellow-billed storks, African spoonbill, and more.
Focusing on sustainability, the lodge implemented a green approach towards all operating departments; the lodge supports small businesses by sourcing local products and organic food, runs on solar energy, and has a low water consumption and wastage system.
