Matingwe Lodge lies adjacent to the larger Welgevonden Game Reserve in the southwest Waterberg region, approximately 38 km from Vaalwater, Limpopo. It is vast, peaceful and startlingly beautiful. The superb vistas, mountain gorges, clear streams and rolling bushveld hills are rich in indigenous species of plant and animal life, including the Big 5.

Surrounded by striking Waterberg trees, the 3 suites and 1 self-catering unit are decorated with special features, each in its own style. Each of the suites can accommodate 2 guests and comprise a king bed or twin beds, a sleeper couch on request, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a mini-bar and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The open-plan Self-catering unit can accommodate 4 guests and comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms with twin beds and a shower in each, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge, as well as braai facilities.

Inside the main lodge, find the restaurant and living area, tastefully decorated to suit the African safari setting. Experience pure wilderness joy at Matingwe Game Reserve taking part in the on-site activities which include hiking, cycling, fishing and bird watching. Other exciting off-site activities include Big 5 game drives at Welgevonden Game Reserve, horse trails, Bushmen painting hikes and elephant rides.
