Die huis is amazing en ons het baie lekker gebly. Ons het 2 aande daar geslaap. Die stoep is groot en oop, jy sal nooit iewers anders wil tyd spandeer nie. Gaan besoek die Merino Cottage!

Die verblyf by Merino Cottage was uitsonderlik aangenaam. Die stylvolle afwerking is van 5-ster gehalte en die huisie is uitsonderlik goed toegerus. Ons vier volwassenes het uitsonderlik lekker gebly!

Romantic and welcoming and very comfortable.

Nina and Arbrie have a unique cottage in the most beautiful setting, which allowed us to have a wonderful stay. We were sorry we did not stay for two or maybe three nights. We could not have asked for more. Things like this are what beautiful memories come from.

Exceptional Free State farm stay.

This must be the best farm stay in the Free State! Everything exceeded my expectations. It offers an authentic experience of a Karoo farm with beautiful views. The cottage is luxurious and tastefully furnished, and the hosts are thoughtful and generous.

Travelled with my wife and 2 yr old son and elderly mom. It was a slice of heaven coming from a long hot road. Everything was serene and beautiful. We loved it.

Wat 'n lieflike plek om oor te slaap! Die kothuis is baie stylvol versier en die gasvrou is baie vriendelik en behulpsaam. Ek sal Merino Cottage definitief aanbeveel.

Wat 'n wonderlike bederfervaring in 'n stylvolle Karoo-huis.

Die huis is mooier as op die fotoweergawe. Gasvrou en -heer uiters gaaf en vriendelik. Van die kombuis tot badkamers is dit baie stylvol toegerus. Die stylvolle eenvoud en goeie smaak is deurgaans deurgevoer tot die fynste detail. Heerlike tuisgebakte bederf en hout word voorsien. As jy van stilte, sterre en bederf hou is hierdie die ideale wegbreek in die Karoo. Sal dit vir seker aanbeveel en weer teruggaan.

Plaas atmosfeer met die mooiste sonsak. Afwerking van eenheid is top gehalte, en regtig goed deurdink!

Baie hoë gehalte!

Hierdie is een van die skoonste, netjieste en karaktervolle oornagplekke wat jy naby aan die N1-roete sal vind. Die pad tussen Trompsburg en Philippolis en ook tussen Philippolis en Colesberg is goor en vol slaggate en ek sou aanbeveel dat dit nie na sononder aangepak moet word nie. Is dit die moeite werd in ag genome die slegte pad? Beslis, die bietjie eksta tyd om versigtig om die slagate te ry is beslis die moeite werd. Geen moeite is gespaar aan detail om die verblyf baie spesiaal te maak nie. Eienaars se gasvryheid en die ongewoon goed toegeuste cottage waar absoluut aan alles gedink is. Die cottage het goeie gehalte-afwerking en die toerusting is in puik kondisie. Ek het genoem dat ek met aankoms graag wou braai en 'n vuur was reeds gepak toe ek daar stop. Ek het die volgende oggend voor ek gery het 'n lekker draffie gaan vat tot waar ek springbokke sien wei het. Jy sal beslis ook lekker kan fietsry daar. Maklik 'n plek wat 'n twee nagte oorblyf regverdig. Ek sal beslis weer daar wil oorbly.

Stunning, peaceful.

We loved our time at Merino Cottage and will definitely be back. The cottage has been beautifully set up and has everything you could need. The views from the verandah go on for days. Our hostess was wonderful!

Exceptional on every level - comfort, beauty and Karoo hospitality. I would go back in a heartbeat.

We are nature lovers and bird watchers. We love tranquility with a touch of comfort. The simple beauty of the accommodation combined with the staggering majesty of the surroundings is food for the soul. Seeing flamingoes in the dam and a warthog was a bonus. Nina exudes the elegant and timeless hospitality one would expect from a historic Karoo family - from the gorgeous olives and rusks to the stack of braai-ready firewood, all was perfect. I would spend months there if I could.

Op hierdie plek is alles nie net reg en op sy plek nie maar ook pragtig. Die gasvrou, Nina se warm ontvangs en vriendelikheid laat mens sommer dadelik tuisvoel. Die varsgebakte koekies en beskuit is sommer 'n ekstra bederf! Een aand is te kort hier!

Such a great place to be.

A beautiful cottage on a working sheep farm. Close, but very independent from the main building. Everything you need is available in the cottage, but most relevant are the views, the birds near the house, the sunrise and sunset and very relevant, is the kind help of the owners. They helped us to appreciate Philippolis by suggesting visits to Jobshouse, the church and a horsdrawn wagon through the town with a guide.

Wonderful farm cottage in the middle of the Karoo.

The Merino Cottage is an absolute gem and is the nicest farm cottage I have ever had the pleasure of renting. The Cottage itself is beautifully appointed and overlooks the wonderful Karoo grasslands (at this time of year these are covered in the white gold of grass). The facilities offered in the cottage are first class and this is added to buy some very nice extras - farm baked rusks, fresh milk and this year we also discovered a bowl of olives. One cannot fault anything about the cottage. . As a stop over on the way to Cape Town or Johannesburg this is a wonderful place to stay. Also anyone looking to get away for a few days this is a lovely tranquil spot.

A place of peace, beauty, comfort but yet being out there away from the bustle of a town or city.

Lovely family and couple, very helpful and friendly, always offering to help if there is anything you need. Loved the solitude and out door experience! Will be back!

Beautifully appointed farm cottage.

Merino Cottage is an unexpected gem close to Philippolis. It is the ultimate farm cottage. The cottage is perfect, the rooms are large, furnished beautifully. Bathrooms are well appointed. The kitchen is lovely and the cutlery and crockery very stylish. The cottage is the nicest farm cottage we have had the pleasure of visiting. The extra touches that the hostess provided were very special.

Luxury, stylish cottage with stunning views over the Karoo grasslands where you can watch the sunrise and sunset on the porch. You can get stuck for hours on the large porch next to the built-in braai. Loved the attention to detail, home baked goods and books on Philippolis. Everything you need for self-catering. Easy 3.5 km drive with a city car on a good dirt road once you turn off from the main road into town. You can skip Colesberg entirely and 30 minutes later be in Philippolis. Nina was a fabulous host! Cannot wait to be back!

Lovely cottage. Karoo vistas

Beautifully appointed cottage with lots of nice touches. Everything we needed. Great patio and braai area. Lovely little garden for our sun to run around. Stunning Karoo sunset.

Die kothuis is mooi en smaakvol toegerus. Gasvrou en -heer baie vriendelik en niks was te veel moeite nie. Heerlike aandete en ontbyt daar genuttig. Ons was spyt dat ons net 1 nag oorgeslaap het. Dit sou lekker gewees het om 'n paar dae die rustigheid en mooi omgewing te kon geniet het.

Uiters netjies en baie rustig en stil.

Die ideale naweek wegbreek van die stad.

Pragtige, netjiese huisie.

Die huisie is pragtig en alles so netjies en skoon. Nina het ons lekker bederf met allerhande goedjies in die huis, vernaam die lekker fudge. Hulle het ons baie vriendelik verwelkom en uit hulle pad gegaan om ons tuis te laat voel. Definitief 'n plekkie wat op ons lys is om na terug te gaan.

Hemel op Aarde.

Daar is nie woorde om hierdie stukkie paradys te beskryf nie. Die foto's doen nie die vestiging van geregtigheid nie. Ons reis baie en hierdie is sowaar die beste plekkie waar ons al ooit gebly het. Ons sal beslis weer 'n draai maak. Dankie Nina vir die bederf met die koekies, beskuit en fudge. Dis die klein goedjies wat die verblyf baie spesiaal maak. Sien julle binnekort weer.

Gasvrou uiters vriendelik en hulpvaardig. Pragtige cottage met alles wat mens nodig het. Al die plaasbederfies soos plaasmelk, beskuit en koekies maak dit ekstra spesiaal. Sal beslis weer daar oorslaap.

Hemel in die Karoo.

Fantastiese gasvryheid! Nina het ons bederf met soet spanspek uit die tuin, vars gebakte beskuit, koekies en fudge! Die lugversorging was wonderlik en die die kothuis eenvoudig stunning!

Merino Cottage is uitstekend.

Die gastehuis is pragtig gebou en afgewerk, met klomp geskiedenis daarmee saam. Die huisie is uitstekend ingerig met kwaliteit ingedagte. Die gasheer en gasvrou is Karoo-mense wat tyd inrig om hul gaste tuis te laat voel. Dankie aan beide van julle, Abrie en Nina! Ons sal jul plek aanbeveel binne ons netwerk!

Stunning place with excellent hosts.

We were blown away with the stunning, well appointed cottage. Everything was clean and the decor and attention to detail was superb. It surpassed our expectations. Thank you to Nina for the extras such as fudge on our pillow, tasty rusks and flowers in every room.
