Montagu Getaway offers self-catering accommodation and complete privacy in a country setting on a 2-hectare Arabian stud and sheep farm in the famous greenbelt of Montagu in the picturesque Western Cape. Montagu Getaway is a short distance from the centre of this quaint little town with its assortment of interesting restaurants, craft bars, and other amenities.

Accommodation is offered in 3 en-suite garden cottages, each with its own private entrance and warmed by splashes of colour and buckets of wild flowers. The interiors of all the rooms are decorated with unconstrained care, and tasteful works of art, all with a subtle African flavour, adorn the walls. The detail extends outside too, with giant cacti and intriguing sculptures accentuating various walls and open spaces around the buildings, while on the lawn stooping metal birds and tortoises cause you to stop, look and look again.

Each guest cottage has an open-plan studio layout. The large bedroom area contains a queen-size bed made up with 100-percent crisp percale hand-embroidered linen, as well as heated floors for the wintertime. The en-suite bathrooms contain showers and are decorated with paintings and kelim rugs. Each cottage has a lounge area with a flat-screen TV and an internal combustion fireplace as well as heaters to ensure comfort during the cold winter nights.

The cottages each open to their own private covered patio with its own kitchenette fitted with a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, electric frying pan, and cutlery and crockery. The patio also features outdoor dining furniture, and a kettle braai facility is provided.

After awakening to the sounds of various indigenous birds you can make your own coffee and breakfast in your own outside kitchen, and then amble over to the swimming pool to take a dip and soak up the sun.
