Good but the WiFi was very weak.

Very nice. Just a recommendation that an extra mattress could have been provided for kids as they had to sleep on the couch as we did not have space in the car for a blow-up mattress.

This is our first and the last time we will visit Montagu Springs.

The chalets are so outdated and unsafe for younger kids (bad state of chalets). The curtains are damaged, the bottom of the chalets is broken, and pipes are exposed. In actual fact, the chalets shouldn't even be rented out. We complained about the state of the chalet, and the manager gave us alternate accommodation, which was better but also not up to the standard that we are used to. Paying so much for accommodation and then still having to pay for the pools daily is quite annoying. The outside maintenance is very nice, and the place has a lot of potential to be great, but that requires the chalets to be renovated. The day spent at Avalon Springs (which is also expensive) made up for the whole vacation. Montagu Springs could take some tips from another place where you pay less for awesome accommodation (which includes daily cleaning service), pools, putt putt (refundable deposit), and slides at no extra cost.

Units rather poor. Facilities OK.

When we arrived, our unit smelled terrible (old oil and cigarettes) and we could see that there is a lot of wear and tear (stains, furniture in bad condition). The kitchen blinds were completely broken, and we had no privacy. The bedrooms were the only space that was neat and clean. Thank God. We reported it, but nothing was done about it. My husband got sick, and staff popped in and saw how badly damaged the kitchen blinds were. Definitely not the standard that we have as a family.

It was fantastic. Kids loved the pools and games. It was also relaxing for me.

A value for money option in an extremely nice location.

The stay was excellent, and the pools were fantastic. It would have been nice to know beforehand that the venue does not have backup power and is subject to load shedding. The accommodation is in drastic need of renovation to bring it out of the 90s look and feel. Otherwise, a nice place to stay, and we will come back.

Slegte onvangs in die plet.

Glad nie daar gebly. Die plet was net die hefde vir ons beskikbaar, die res was toegesluit. Die plet benodig baie werk en is bitter klein en teen die stroom waar ekskavasie gedoen word.

Die scenerie was mooi, maar dit kort 'n goeie upgrade.

Met aankoms was die personeel baie vriendelik en behulpsaam. Ons het 'n huisie by Montagu Springs geboek, maar was in 'n ander huisie gekry. My tienerseun het nie op sy bed gepas nie. Die stapelbeddens is nie geskik vir tieners nie. Die spasie was te klein. Die badkamer was baie klein. My man en seun was baie ongelukkig want hulle kon nie behoorlik beweeg in die badkamer nie. My tiener se kop het heeltyd teen die plafon gekap as hy op die bed was. Hy sê die bed voel lekker sag om op te slaap, maar die spasie was te klein om gemaklik op die bed te klim en weer af te klim. My 4-jarige het gehou van haar stapelbed omdat dit letterlik op die grond was en sy kon maklik in en uit klim. En die feit dat jy ekstra moet betaal om die warm swembad te gebruik is pateties. Alles op die perseel moet verniet wees vir gaste.

Plek besig om agteruit te gaan. Maintenance onvoldoende.

Lekker gebly in die Montagu Springs area. Die ander areas op die oord lyk maar bietjie nie op standaard nie. Die onderste dele is stukkend en dit lyk asof die maintenance nie goed gedoen word nie. Daar is ook nie braai roosters nie. Vat maar jou eie een saam.

We made the best of it.

Our chalet looked like a shack inside. Broken curtains. Damaged stove. Duct taped floors. The couch looked like 20 cats had a party on it. Torn! The lovely staff then moved me to a slightly better unit after I called to complain. The website pictures are deceiving. There were no cloths to even wash dishes!

Needs serious upgrades!

This establishment is definitely not up to resort standards. It felt like I was transported back to the 80s. The unit needs a serious upgrade. The temperature knob of the fridge was broken, and only 1 of the 4 stove plates was working. The functioning stove plate was very weak. The bathroom had an old smell, and the shower had lots of mould. The unit can get very hot, and the weak air-conditioning does not do much justice. Rules of the resort are not enforced, attracting an undisciplined calibre of guests. The establishment looks very run down. You only get 1GB of Wi-Fi. Once depleted you need to buy Wi-Fi. To drive almost 3 hours out of Cape Town to stay in an outdated unit with only a shared pool as a highlight is not worth it.

We love the chalets with aircon and WiFi. The cold and hot pools were great.

A) The parking by Josmont Heights is very small. Not suitable for bigger vehicles. b) Wi-Fi reception of all Networks is problematic. c) Separation of the smaller warm baths. Far too few for the number of people, the Resort accommodates. The paid-for warm baths are equally too small for the number of people. d) Restaurant served good food, but the fried potato chips served at Springs Hotel need urgent urgent upgrading. Otherwise a nice breakaway.

Very relaxing and enjoyable.

There isn't anything else to say. It was exactly what we were looking for.

Golden Terraces is actually an amazing place as it's a free standing unit with undercover parking just the WiFi is a bit slow there so I would recommend bringing along a router for just incase.

The location is perfect. The pricing at the bar is just a bit too much. But everything else is good. Especially the aircon in each room including the lounge. However please take along your own clothing iron. We had an amazing stay the only sad part was packing up to leave. All the workers from the security to the cleaner to the reception are very well mannered.

We enjoyed our stay.

Myself and my family enjoyed the stay, the only problem is that they should provide dish cloths and dry cloths, there was no hot water to bath or shower. We had to put on the kettle for hot water to wash other than that the place is fantastic, play park for kids my kids enjoyed it. The view of the mountain is amazing. The hot water pool is good. Nice facilities like the tennis court and football pitch and even bikes are good to have. The reception people are very friendly and understanding.

Warm swembaddens nie in werking nie a.g.v. instandhouding. Baie beknopte eenheid. Toilet en stort uiters beknop, toilet self was nie 100% reg nie. Tipe van 'n gasreuk in eenheid. Aircon ook buite werking.

'n Baie gemaklike blyplek naby baie besienswaardighede.

Die woonstel se kombuis was beter toegerus as meeste soortgelyke akkommodasies (in terme van messegoed, breekware, ens.) en daar is baie kaste in die slaapkamers. Gemaklike beddens.

Peaceful, tranquil, pure bliss.

It was a good break away from home. It was just unfortunately load shedding but the views made up for that and there was a gas stove available which didn't hinder us from any cooking and meal prep.

Disappointed.

The resort is outdated and the warm pool is so small and cold due to load shedding. Montague Gardens campers can also not use the large pool at Avalon Springs and have to pay R100 per day per person to access the pools at Avalon Springs and R15 at Montague Springs. If you visit in the winter make sure to take a cabin that gets more sun. Our cabin got no sun and it was freezing.

The pool was very cold. The chalet not up to standard. Load shedding a big problem. Very terrible stay, a waste of money.

The stay was pleasant. The chalets are a bit outdated, but meets the basic needs in that they have what one needs for a quick family getaway. I would add a light when load-shedding hits, but other than that, it was ample for what we needed.

The fact that you pay and still have to deal with loadshedding is a bit of a downgrade and puts a hamper on your holiday.

Ek het baie lekker gekuier. 'n Kommer vir my is die warmswembad. Daar is geen toilette naby nie. Ons naby toilette gebly. Mense vir ure daar gesit en kinders lank geswem. Waar urineer hulle? Dis nogal 'n kwessie. Sal dink dat daar toilette by die swembad moet wees.

Heerlik gekuier. Aircon baie gehelp in die koue. Die werkers was baie behulpsaam en vriendelik.

Baie rustig.

Was baie ontspannend. Swembaddens was bietjie kouer as normaal a.g.v. loadshedding.

Stay was okay, but the facilities were not good value for the money we paid for the weekend.

Accommodation needs some serious TLC, it was not cleaned properly and the toilets required some serious disinfecting when we arrived. We did not make a fuss about it as we were already there all the way from CPT so we just decided to clean the place ourselves so we could enjoy a comfortable stay. The shower was mouldy and dirty which we also tried to clean with some of our own Domestos just to ensure that we at least have a shower that was somewhat clean and not grimy. I would not recommend this place to any family members or friends. Also, it was not advertised that their hot pool is not in proper working condition when we booked which was very disappointing, it was dirty for most of our stay and we decided not to use it, not sure how often they clean the hot pool seeing that it's being used the most as the normal pool water was freezing cold.

Langnaweek by Montagu Springs.

Ek dink die oord is redelik goed geleë, maar mens kan sien dat die oord al 'n paar jaar daar is en sy ouderdom begin wys. Die verblyf is nou nie rêrig van die beste wat ons al ooit in gebly het nie. Die behuising is basies "container" huise met min spasie en jou buurman se huis 'n paar meter weg. Die gasstoof (oond), werk "net net" en is baie oud. Die warmswembad is nie baie warm nie, en daar is aan ons verduidelik dat "load shedding" en die weer dit beïnvloed. Mens kan wel na Avalon Springs stap vir hulle swembaddens, maar dan kos dit R100 per persoon per dag. Vir 'n gesin van 4 raak dit 'n duur storie.

Met aankoms was daar 2 huise bespreek. Ekt net 1 huis bespreek. So ek hoop nog vir 'n terugbetaling van 1 huis wat bespreek was.

Skoon en ruim. Oord goed versorg en was lekker stil want buite seisoen.

Dit was een vir die boeke gewees. Lekker rustige naweek, net wat ons nodig gehad het.

Dit was baie lekker gewees, net om in die natuur te wees om 'n ander dorp te verken. Ons sal definitief weer hulle besoek.

Relaxing and resourceful.

All Staff were polite and helpful.

Showering was a concern as the water temperature could not be balanced either extremely hot or suddenly cold. The tap in the shower was a concern.

Fantasmagories.

Verblyf was lekker behalwe 1 van die huise was glad nie op standaard nie, min warm water en beddens se matrasse baie pap, groot teleurstelling.

No emergency globes in units. Pools are not warm, instead lukewarm and overdosed in chlorine.

Kitchen taps and shower does not work simultaneously. No mop provided in unit to dry floors upon returning from pools. No rails at smaller pools. Customer service upon checking out, was not a pleasant experience. WiFi is the worst ever.

Too little bang for my buck.

I went there for the natural hot water springs only to find out that Avalon Springs is natural hot springs and Montagu Springs is heated water. Should have a label "made in China". This heating is obviously affected by loadshedding. When asked what they provide for loadshedding, we are told candles, bring your own. They only supply the holders. Everything inside the chalets dates back to the 90s. To add insult to injury, you must pay for the fake "spring". The pics only show the nice braai on the patio upstairs, not the dingy cold and isolated one I got out back with the ground unit. To think, I might have to go back there for work at the end of the month. Very disappointing. Must add though that the staff are super helpful and pleasant to speak to.

Die verblyf was 'n groot teleurstelling. Die oord is op so 'n pragtige plek geleë, maar huisies kort dringend opknapping.

'n Paar tekortkominge: Die toilet was los en die handvatsel wou nie terugdruk nie. Die bed was hard en het gekraak as 'n mens omdraai. Die banke se sponse is deurgesit. Die gordyne se agterkante is stukkend. Die stoep is afgedop. Die toegeboude dele onder om die huise is stukkend. Badkamer is net so groot soos 'n kas in die een huisie. Geen handdoeke of kerse vir beurtkrag nie. Dit is beslis nie op standaard nie - ons is baie teleurgesteld met die verblyf.

Fantasties en rustig. Net wat ek nodig gehad het.

Rustig en waarde vir geld. Die uitsig was asemrowend. Ek het die plek baie geniet.

Great Stay @ Montagu Springs.

We had a great stay at Montagu Springs. The wife and the small one enjoyed themselves and definitely will return.

Relaxing untill our towels got stolen and was on edge.

Unfortunately, our towels were stolen off the washing line. Very sad though to think people would come to a resort to steal other people's belongings. The accommodation definitely needs an upgrade. It's been like this for the past 30 years.

Kan Montagu Spring vir enigeen aanbeveel. Vakansie daar was ongelooflik lekker aangesien daar gratis toegang tot swembaddens was a.g.v. van loadshedding. Sal definitief weer gaan.

Was ok, maar green noodligte gedurende loadshedding nie. Meer TV-kanale moet beskikbaar gemaak word.

Was meesal gekortwiek deur tekort aan elektrisiteit. Die perseel was pikdonker gedurende beurtkrag. Die boomtakke bokant dak het met sterkte wind aan die dak geraak.

Its a friendly and peaceful environment. The weather was wonderful.

Okay, but we were slightly disappointed.

The chalet had everything we required, and the inside of the chalet was clean. However, the braai was filthy. Luckily, we brought our own braai equipment. The chalet desperately needs a refurbishment. I don't think anything has been upgraded since the unit was built. The shower was difficult to operate, and we couldn't get a happy medium in terms of water temperature. The handle of the hot water tap was also broken and kept on falling off. Their website does not mention that their residents do not have access to Avalon Springs on weekends at this stage and limited access during the week. You would then also be visiting a construction site with about 20 workers around the pool.

Satisfying, relaxing, breathtaking, and peaceful.

Montagu springs is a must see. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the chalets are very clean with excellent bedding and great matrasses. The kitchens are fitted with everything you would need. From butter knives to candle holders. There is aircon in all the units making it very pleasant in excessive heat. The pools are in sterling condition.

Dis maar eemmaal lekker om wakker te raak in 'n stil en rustige atmosfeer. As jy uitstap op die stoep kyk jy teen 'n berguitsig uit. Dis wonderlik om die skone natuur so te beleef.

Enjoyed the big sized cold pool. Warm pool a bit on the small side so landed up also paying day visitor fees for Avalon Springs to use their warm pools. All in all enjoyed the stay.

Ons was by Montagu Springs vir 'n wegbreeknaweek.

Die registrasieproses het glad verloop. Die enigste ongerief is dat 'n mens na die kantoor moet gaan elke dag om 'n bandjie te kry om by die swembaddens in te gaan. Die woonkwartiere is knap, maar gemaklik en skoon. Daar was voldoende parkeerplek naby die huisie. 'n Lugversorger en lekker groot stoep om op te sit het die kuier meer aangenaam gemaak. Die uitleg, gras en tuine is uitstekend en goed versorg.

Don't go there when it's Loadshedding.

Dit was teleurstellend.

Die banke in die sitkamer was baie vuil. Daar was geen kerse of ligte as backup vir loadshedding nie. Geen gasstoof vir wanneer dit loadshedding is nie. Jy kon jou eerste koppie koffie eers drink sodra die elektrisiteit aan gaan. Die gaste moet ingelig word om hul eie ligte saam te bring. Swembaddens ook nie baie skoon nie.

Amazing.

Die atmosphere is baie nice, die rustigheid en wakker skrik en na die voëltjies te hoor, dis amazing en nuwe mense te ontmoet dis super nice.

Dit was heerlik sal beslis weer daantoe gaan, het die kort tydjie baie geniet met my man.

Dit was asemrowend gewees. Die waters was fantasties. Die atmosfeer was lekker en die mense by die ontvangs het ons bjae vreindelik en goeie diens gegee. Sal beslis weer Montagu toe kom.

My guys said it's the best place they've stayed in.

My guys were very happy and comfortable. When I had a look inside for the last time I fetched them they had made all the beds and the place was spotless.

Had a blast.

It was really a nice family vacation. I will be booking soon for 2023. Chalet 12 is the best when there's kids. The curtains should juts be changed in chalet 12. It has holes and is visible from the outside when looking in. We didn't mind just bringing it to your attention. Our weekend was super awesome and we definitely will be back 2023 in that same chalet.

Pure bliss.

Everything was just perfect from the friendly security, admin staff right down to the unit which was very neat and fresh. I experienced just one hiccup which was on arrival we found that my book-in time was not listed hence security was unaware but that was a minor issue as he quickly and professionally handled it in getting us sorted.
