Mooiplaas Plaasverblyf offers guests self-catering accommodation on a working sheep farm, 47 km from Aliwal North between Bethulie and Smithfield.

Surrounded by veld, the house comprises 1 bedroom, a loft room, 1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and lounge. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed, and 2 single beds are located in the loft. Extra mattresses are available on request, and the bathroom is fitted with a shower and hot water.

The kitchen is equipped with tea- and coffee-making facilities, a gas stove, and a gas fridge. Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table, and the lounge is equipped with a cosy fireplace.

A gas geyser, gas stove and fridge, oil lanterns and battery-operated lights make this the ideal place to escape electricity and just enjoy the peaceful area. Solar power is also available for lights, Wi-Fi, and phone charging.

Outdoor braai facilities are available to watch the stars at night. Well-trained dogs are welcome with prior arrangements, and a cleaning service is available on request at an additional cost.

The farm offers walking, jogging and cycling trails, and various picnic spots where guests can relax and enjoy nature.

From Aliwal North it is 11 km gravel road and from Bethulie/Smithfield it is 20 km on gravel road. The R701 are scraped every 6 months but conditions can vary because of rain.
