Description

The Namaqua Flower Beach Camp is a rustic yet sophisticated tented camp, nestled along the beautiful Namaqua coastline just 1 km north of the Groenrivier entrance to the Namaqua National Park. The camp is open during the flower season, when this arid region undergoes a magnificent floral transformation. The seasonal winter rains over the west coast and adjacent interior, trigger one of the most spectacular floral kingdoms in the world, a truly breathtakingly beautiful phenomenon, which is quite possibly unlike anything you have experienced before.

The Namaqua Flower Beach Camp can accommodate up to 30 guests in 15 completely private individual glamping suites, all commanding spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean which can be viewed from a private verandah. Each tent is comfortably furnished and seamlessly blends into the natural surroundings; the tents are designed with gauze sashes on the windows for more comfort. Each tent contains a queen-size bed that can be converted to twin single beds, made up of white cotton linen, comfortable pillows, warm duvets, and a spacious dressing area. Each tent is entirely en-suite with a hot bucket shower, chemical toilet, washbasin, and towels. Shower gel and shampoo are provided. Hot water is heated by a wood-burning donkey system and showers are filled by our staff. Electric blankets are provided, and a hairdryer is available on request. A tea and coffee basket with rusks is served to guests in their tent each morning.

An informal bar, lounge, and dining area are housed in a beautiful, yet simply furnished tent, giving an open-air feel and harmonising with the surrounding environment. Scatter cushions, rugs, lamps, gas heaters, and knee blankets offer warmth and comfort. The Namaqua Flower Beach Camp is renowned for its delicious dining experience; sea breezes combined with the aroma of bacon and eggs, delicious and wholesome picnic baskets, afternoon tea, and last but certainly not least hearty, satisfying 3-course dinners prepared in the remote kitchen by a private chef. Guests can enjoy a nightcap in the lounge after dinner before retiring to their warm beds or awake to tea and coffee served outside their tents to start their day. An outdoor fireside seating area is located close to the bar and is wonderful on a clear, still evening.
All vehicles are parked in a secure parking area in close proximity to the tents.
