Unfortunately, we do not provide towels and if you require cleaning services, we do so at an extra fee. You would have received an info email outlining all of these areas, prior to your arrival. The same email would also have informed you of the cleaning services.
The chalets are completely self-catering, which means that you need to bring your own soaps, shampoos, and dishwashing liquid. This is standard practice for venues that are not 5-star rated and are trying to keep the rates as low as possible for their clients.
I will see which unit you were in and go and check on which electric blanket is not working and also remove the kitchen items which are not in a good condition. Unfortunately, people do abuse items putting pots onto open flames, using kitchen utensils to stoke the fire etc. which is quite a nightmare for us.

The road to the farm is very bad, but we were warned beforehand by Old Mill Management. Although we were comfortable with 3 small cars, I would recommend a bakkie or something similar. We chose the backpacker option (cheapest) and it exceeded our expectations. The spot doen't look neat from the outside, but it was very large and clean on the inside and there was more than enough dishes, a fridge, a kettle and a gas stove. We went during the winter season and the water had frozen in the pipes, which meant that there was no water in the morning. There was water every night, I would recommend a summer getaway. We will definitely return to explore the trails on the farm as it didn't fit in our schedule at the time. I strongly recommend Old Mill Drift and we hope to return before the end of the year.

We were the first two guests to stay in the Wendy, and it was fantastic! Exactly what you need when you are too lazy to set up your tent. The electric blankets really made a difference against the cold and I strongly recommend them. The ablution facilities are basic, but has all of the necessities, my only recommendation would be a shower head. There is only one small stream of water. Scenic environment and the friendly dogs who come to greet you each morning put a smile on your face. I would suggest you warn people about the state of the dirt road this time of year when they make a reservation. The website just indicates that it in a bad condition sometimes and we had a lot of trouble when we got a hole in the oil tank. It was great sports finding a mechanic on a holiday in Clarens! Except for that, we will definitely go again!

We have just very recently undertaken major earthworks on our campsite, and literally only been open for a few months, so there is still much room for improvement, in a number of aspects. Thank you for letting us know about the shower head. I shall replace it today. We still need to decorate the ablutions, farm life can be hectic, It is very difficult to indicate to folks on our website what the condition of the road is going to be as it changes literally from day to day. After heavy rains, it is quite a challenge to get here in a non 4x4 vehicle, but in winter, it is normally a very easy road. It is a public road, so I am resistant to spend money on what our government should be upkeeping, but we do spend a lot of time and labour on it. The dustbins were not in clear site from all the campsites. They are around at the back of the dish washing area. We will put signs up pointing out where they are, but plan to add bins to each campsite. Thank you for that input, we will make the improvement.
I would like to point out again, as you were made very aware at the outset, we have just opened our campsite and that not all things are 100% yet.
All of your issues could have been addressed within 15 minutes, had you taken the time to just let us know or ask us. It is always sad that people do not ask. We would have jumped to assist you.
The keys for the ablutions were forgotten in the office, we could have had them there for you in a heartbeat.
We have since marked one toilet for men and one for women. Thank you for this, an improvement indeed.
I would be grateful if you could share with me which of my staff members told you that the wood was free. Really odd. I can't imagine by whom you may have received that information. Chopping and collecting wood is a time consuming and costly business. We certainly don't make anything out of it, it is merely a service we provide. Where in the world would one get wood for free?
Unless of course you were prepared to cut, chop and gather it yourself, I find it quite bizarre that you could think that it could be.
The bags we sell are mainly all hardwood. There is some poplar, which it seems you may have received. If you had mentioned to us that you were unhappy we would have replaced it with hardwood within a few minutes.
I am sorry that you did not share your grievances with us, I am sure we could have sorted all of these little issues out.

Yes, the farm does have a completely different feel in summer. Lush green rolling hills that go on forever.
