Description
Our Lodge is situated in Silonque Holiday Estate and offers quality accommodation for a small family or group of friends. The house overlooks the Kruger National Park and is within easy reach of the Phalaborwa gate into the park.
The house has 2 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 4 adults at a time. The first bedroom features a double bed, and the second bedroom features 2 single beds pushed together to form a double bed. Each room offers an en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower, toilet, and double basin. Moreover, a cot can be arranged on request.
The kitchen is equipped with a stove, a microwave, a fridge, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery. It also features a dishwasher for guests’ convenience. The house has solar panels and a battery for during load shedding.
The spacious living room features comfortable seating and a TV with DStv and a DVD player. There is a dining area where guests can enjoy their meals together. The living room has a door leading to the patio with outdoor furniture, braai facilities and a splash pool. Guests also have access to free Wi-Fi during their stay. The accommodation has solar panels and a battery so during loadshedding the only things that will not work are the stove and only 1 aircon will be available.
Silonque Bush Estate offers a swimming pool and a tennis court. This resort has 10 houses, so it retains a feeling of exclusivity. Animals roam freely on the resort, so expect visits from giraffes, warthogs, elephants, kudu, waterbuck, porcupine, aardvark, impala, steenbok, grey duiker, hyena, civet, and if you are lucky even the elusive leopard. For this reason, pets are unfortunately not allowed.
Safari's into the Kruger National Park can be arranged.
The resort is only a 15-minute drive from the Phalaborwa gate to the world-famous Kruger National Park in South Africa. In the Kruger Park, guests can go on a self-drive safari or book a guided game drive, bird-watching tour, bush braai or game walk. Make sure to check out the night drive to find some of the big cats. The Phalaborwa area is known for hosting a lot of leopards and lions. A cheetah and her cubs have been spotted within 2 km of the Kruger National Park.
Other nearby attractions include the Blyde River Canyon, which is an hour's drive away. Guests can drive the Panorama Route and see beautiful waterfalls, cliffs, canyons and even a rainforest. Visit God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Mac Mac Falls, Berlin Falls, Three Rondavels all in 1 day. The staff can book the excursions in Kruger Park for guests and can arrange a river safari or township tour with a private guide.
