Description
The Purple House in Smithfield is one of the oldest, most funkiest, air-conditioned and grooviest guest houses in the Free State. This Guest House is run by the owner himself and is always available. There is a generator in case of power outages.
The Half Moon Room is a modern and spacious room set in a rondawel. It has a separate and private bathroom with shower. Either a king-size bed is used or it can be converted into 2 single beds. Another single bed is available upon request. There is a small kitchenette and satellite TV. Electric blankets and high quality percale sheets and a duck duvet is provided.
The Quarter Moon is a modern and spacious room set in a rondawel. It has a separate and private bathroom with shower. Either a king-size bed is used or it can be converted into 2 single beds. Another single bed is available upon request. There is a small kitchenette and satellite TV. Electric blankets and high quality percale sheets and a duck duvet are provided.
The Pierneef room is nice and comfortable with full air conditioning, oregon floors, and high ceilings. The unit has a queen-sized bed, extra length, and a private bathroom with a shower only. Free Wi-Fi and full DStv are available with 2 easy chairs. High-quality percale sheets, a duck duvet, and electric blankets are provided.
The Gallery room is fully air-conditioned, fitted with 2 single beds, and 2 lounge chairs, and has an en-suite bathroom with a shower inside the room. Full DStv and free Wi-Fi are available.
The Gecko Cottage has full air-conditioning for the bedrooms and can accommodate 5 persons in comfort. We have two rooms in the cottage. One room has a double bed and the other has 3 single beds. There is a kitchen and bathroom with a gas shower. It is ideal for a family to overnight or even for long-term stays for contractors. It is basic but comfortable. Electric blankets and high quality percale sheets and a duck duvet are provided.
Guests have access to free Wi-Fi for entertainment.
Coffee and tea-making facilities are provided in the kitchen and there is a small café in the garden. Dinners and breakfasts are served inside the house or on the veranda. You could also have it in the lovely tea garden with a little pond. The house also has a private cinema for entertainment; prior arrangement for shows is a must.
