Rustigheid, vrede en ongelooflike mooi natuurskoon.

Die eienares gaan uit haar pad om gaste vriendelik en hartlik te ontvang, die kos is uitstekend. Die hotel is baie gewild by toergroepe. Weens omstandighede was ons ongelukkig nie in die hotel self geakkommodeer nie, maar die alleenstaande cottage waarin ons gebly het was voldoende.

Karaktervolle hotel op 'n spesiale dorpie.

Die hotel het soveel karakter en geskiedenis. Dit is mooi gerestoureer en behou sy karakter. Die 5-gang-aandete slaan jou asem weg! Ontbyt is net so heerlik! Doen so voort!

Well worth the experience.

When you visit Rhodes, you are stepping back into a previous century. It is therefore appropriate that you should stay at Rhodes Hotel, which is also stepping back into a previous century. Savour the experience, enjoy good service and everything else that goes with a bygone era. While Rhodes is accessible using a normal car, it does become extremely challenging/dangerous if there has been heavy and continuous rain.

Beautiful village, hotel management very friendly and helpful, superb food.

We made an overnight stop here while returning from Cape Town to Durban "the pretty way" and are very glad we did. Rhodes is a beautiful, peaceful place, with a strong community spirit which keeps everywhere clean and tidy in a nice old-fashioned, casual way. Everyone at the accommodation was exceptionally helpful and friendly, the accommodation has great character, and the dinner and breakfast (included in the price) were superb.

Baie lekker gebly, dankie. Plattelandse boeregasvryheid op sy beste en dit in 'n sjarmante gerestoureerde hotel van weleer.

Enormous potential, but cleanliness not up to standard.

Interesting historic hotel with loads of potential - and probably getting there, slowly. There is no excuse for dusty furnishings in public areas and filthy tablecloths outside. However, the rate for dinner, bed, and breakfast is very good. Not all rooms are of the same standard, even though they are charged at the same rate.

Ons kamers en badkamers was glad nie op standaard nie.

Hulle was totaal onvoorbereid vir ons. Hulle het volgens hulle geen terugvoer gehad oor ons besoek nie. Die gevolg: substandaard verblyf. Gelukkig wonderlike etes.

We loved the unit we stayed in, which had heaters for the cold and the food was simply delicious!

Loved the fireplace and pub too. What a great place to visit if you want to relax, read a book, do photography, enjoy fresh mountain air, do 4 x 4 trails and enjoy some walks! We loved the extreme 4 x 4 trip to the gate of Tiffendel and the tasty 4-course meals, which Sandra prepared for us! The village is very quaint and picturesque!

Uitstekend. Lanklaas so lekker geëet.

Pryse was baie billik. Ontbyt en aandete was ingesluit in die prys. Aandete was 'n 4-gang boerekos-feesmaal. Hulle het ons soos familie laat voel.

Eenvoudig en gemaklik.

Op my eie, op pad om die sneeu te soek wat op die berge val. Lieflike kos geëet vir aandete en ’n smaaklike magwinya-ontbyt!

Vriendelik en gasvry!

My ouers het daar oornag en het 'n baie moeilike dag op die pad gehad daarnatoe. Die kamer was heerlik warm toe hulle daar aankom en het baie lekker geëet en geslaap. Baie dankie!

Toale ontspanning in 'n gasvrye omgewing.

Hantie en Sandra is wonderlike gashere. Hulle het ons voorsien van al die inligting wat ons wou gehad het omtrent die omgewing. Die etes was fantasties en hul gasvryheid ongeëwenaar. Ons sal definitief weer 'n draai in Rhodes gaan maak.

Friendly hosts, good food and a comfortable room.

Very confortable and enjoyable.

For departing guests the 8 am breakfast start was too late as this meant we were only able to depart after 9 am. Would recommend that a 7 am breakfast would be more suitable for departing guests.

Very good service.

The hotel is old and as it was closed for many years it does require some renovations without losing its old charm. The owners acknowledge this and have already started a renovation program. A very good experience in a beautiful small town.

Uniek en uitsonderlik.

Die dorpie Rhodes se ligging en setting is absoluut 'n time capsule. Mens gaan 100 en meer jare terug. Argitektuur, look feel en lewenswyse. Pragtig en werklik besonders. Sandra en Handre, ou generasie boere en nou ook eienaars van die 1888 jaar oue hotel doen 'n ongelooflike job. Gasvryheid en warmte in die eerste instansie en dan 'n verfyndheid m.b.t. die decor en cuisine wat mens elke keer verbaas. Well done!

Amazing place to stay.

Great bed, great food, amazing little town. The hotel was better than expected. Awesome value for money. The food was excellent and the hosts were great. We will definitely be back!

Tyd het hier still gaan staan. Mooiste natuur, vriendelike eienaars. Boerekos. Lekker beddens. Ons moes vroeg vertrek en het afslag gekry omdat ons ontbyt gemis het.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. It was a pity we could only stay one night. We are definitely looking forward to coming back soon. Note to the world: just watch the weather before you head over there. In difficult weather conditions, it certainly helps to have a capable 4x4.
