Description

Rietfontein Guest & Safari Lodge is a tranquil self-catering farm with beautiful views from the top of the mountain and offers guests a real farm atmosphere combined with Bushveld and silence. It is suitable for groups and individuals for long or short stays.

This 505-hectare lodge comprises 2 units. The main Lodge House can accommodate 9 guests and comprises 4 bedrooms each with its own en-suite bathroom. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin, and toilet, while the rest of the bathrooms are fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. Die main bedroom has a king-size bed and 2 single beds, and the other bedrooms are furnished with either single or queen-size beds. This unit boasts a living area with comfy couches and a TV with a full selection of DStv channels that is open-plan to the kitchen that is equipped with a gas stove, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, cutlery, and crockery, tea- and coffee-making facilities as well as a centrally located breakfast island and an 10-seater dining table where guests can enjoy their meals. In addition, there’s a tumble dryer for guests’ convenience in the separate scullery.

The Safari Unit can sleep 8 guests and has 4 bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. All linen and towels are provided. The lodge can be booked separately or together with the 4 safari rooms and has its own swimming pool, sun deck, and boma braai. The Safari rooms also have their own thatch self-catering Lapa with a boma braai and swimming pool, and can also be rented separately. This unit has access to the communal thatch Lapa area that has a kitchen fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas stove, oven, microwave, basic crockery, and cutlery as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities. The Lapa has a lovely dining area with a dining table, comfy couches, and a bar and features a Tv with a full selection of DStv channels. The front side of the Lapa walks out to a boma area with a sparkling swimming pool that is accessible to the guests.

This property offers guests amenities such as game drives, sundowners, 4x4 routes, cycling routes, and walking routes. The site also has a Shooting Range which consists of handgun shooting, targets, and an excellent 840m long range. Horses are part of the farm and personal interaction can be arranged. The wildlife that enters the lodge area during the day can be viewed up close. The crackling campfire in the evening twilight can let guests' minds wander on the horizon of a real African sunset.

Game that occur include Klipspringer, Sable, Blue Wildebeest, Livingston Elk, Blesbok, Ribbok, Kudus, Waterbucks, giraffes, zebras, and more. Bird watchers will also be able to keep busy as the bird life is legion.
