Riviera Hotel is situated on the edge of Durban's CBD, opposite Durban Bay, Point Yacht club and Durban Yacht Mole, BAT Cultural and Entertainment Centre, Wilson's Wharf and Catalina Theatre. The hotel is a low-budget tourist hotel offering friendly and efficient service.

Comfortable accommodation is offered in a number of hotel rooms, most of which are sea-facing. The rooms are fully carpeted, and have TV's with local channels, ceiling fans, and en-suite bathrooms with either a bath or shower.

A number of standard harbour-facing rooms have TV's with selected DStv channels. Budget rooms are also available with air-conditioning and flat-screen TV's with selected DStv channels, and there are some rooms with balconies. Family rooms accommodating 2 adults and 1 or 2 small children are also available.
