Description

The historical San Gabriel Homestead is situated off the R44 between Somerset West and Stellenbosch between the foothills of the Helder- and Simonsberg and was founded in the mid-1700. San Gabriel Homestead boasts old oaks, roses gardens, expansive lawns and even a secret forest. This classic Cape Dutch homestead is situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands.

San Gabriel Homestead offers accommodation in the classic Cape Dutch Manor house as well as in 7 restored historical cottages.

The classic Cape Dutch Manor House boasts 4 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (bath and shower), a spacious farm kitchen, classic Cape Dutch lounge with fireplace and dining room, study cum library with a fireplace and a private pool.

Riverside Cottage, overlooking the river has a quaint kitchen and spacious bathroom with a bath and shower.

Willow Cottage, overlooking the rose garden is reminiscent of a typical English cottage. It has a small kitchen cum dining room,1 bedroom and a bathroom with a spacious shower.

Olive Cottage is a freestanding cottage with a private patio and braai facility. It has a spacious lounge with a fireplace, kitchen and a spacious bedroom and ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower. The bedroom has a view of the olive grove.

Vineyard Quarters has a spacious bedroom with an ensuite bathroom (bath and shower), large kitchen which overlooks a rose garden and original fountain.

Mr. Bickerton's Cottage is freestanding with 1 bedroom, a quaint kitchen and an exquisite delft bathroom with shower and bath, overlooking the forest. This historical cottage is the first building which was built on San Gabriel Homestead.

Wisteria Family Cottage has a private veranda with 2 bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms (shower only).

Vineyard Family Cottage has a unique hallway kitchen, 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (shower only) and overlooks a rose garden and the original fountain.

All the units are self-catering and supplied with a fridge, kettle, microwave, stove and oven. All essentials such as lights, fridges, wifi and televisions work during loadshedding.

Other features include a spacious patio with tables and chairs for each unit and luscious running lawns. There is also a communal swimming pool on the premises.
