Perfect Spot.

The location of the cottage was exactly what we needed.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Shady Creek, perfect spot on the river.

The house is spacious, light and airy. The balcony has a beautiful direct view to the river and taking the dingy out is a must-do. Would recommend taking your own tea, coffee, oil, etc. The mosquitos are also quite vicious so take some mozzie spray and a big torch if you’re going to braai in the evening. The river is quite shallow with lots of plant life growing under the water so it isn’t ideal for swimming but going out on the little boat for sundowners was amazing.

Nice, private and quiet location, convenient for all shops and wineries.

All the extra comforts of home, DStv, books and well-appointed kitchen. Could not have wanted more.

Great location on the river, quiet and tranquil retreat, well-appointed and well-managed.

Some minor upkeep on the paving surrounds and a handrail for the older folks on the steps to the lovely grass verge on the river bank would be a great improvement. All documentation and the advice with regards to the stay cottage were all very well handled. Comfortable accommodation and everything worked well. Thanks to Shady Creek for a great week.

Daar was legkaarte om te pak, 'n hele boekrak met boeke om te lees, die lieflike stoep om op te sit en die kabbeling van die water saam met die voëls te geniet. Daar is bedlampies langs die beddens en alle kanale wanneer jy wil TV-kyk en dis naby die dorp maar tog eenkant. Ons sal definitief weer gaan om met die bootjie te gaan ry!

What an awesome and spacious cottage to spend time away from home. It has a lovely entertainment area and well kitted kitchen. The bedrooms (2) were also spacious and were both en-suite. The outdoor space was truly amazing. The views of the river are sublime. The area has loads of birds and the gardens are beautifully kept. There are two braai areas. One near the house and the other closer to the river. The only negative point was the the cottage is on the main road and the sound of the traffic was a bit distracting (mostly from trucks). The access was also a bit tough for our minivan, but we managed to get in and out every time. Parking was sufficient and secure. All in all a super weekend away.

Absoluut puik! Daar was selfs 'n komplimentêre bottel wyn in die yskas en honderde voëls wat saam met jou daar slaap.

Die omgewing is prentjiemooi, van die lekkerste wyn in die land. Die bootvaart op die rivier was heerlik.

'n Lekker rustige wegbreek.

Dit was 'n heerlike rustige en gerieflike verblyf. Die cottage is baie volledig toegerus. My kinders het die Jenga baie geniet! 'n Paar opmerkings: Die uitsig vanaf die stoep is nie meer soos op die foto's nie. Die bome en bosse het die uitsig op die rivier amper toegegroei. Die jetty is kleiner as wat ons gedink het en mens kan nie daar visvang nie. Die riete om die jetty maak dit in elk geval nie moontlik nie. Dit sou baie lekker wees as dit bietjie verder uitgebou word. Die bootjie kan nie gebruik word nie, want dit is swaar en moet teen 'n afdraande afgedra word en in die rivier getel word vanaf die jetty. Ons was nie seker of ons dit weer terug sou kry teen die wal op nie, so het dit liefs nie gebruik nie. In ieder geval het ons baie lekker gebly.

Pleasant, but very regimental and unfortunately road works a distraction.

The cottage has all the beauty but unfortunately the small things like coffee, sugar, tea were not available and with the road works one would have expected a couple of bags of wood to be available. The shower in the main bedroom was also not working. The impression got was that the cottage was not checked before we arrived to ensure everything was available and working.

Cottage is clean and well equipped and the setting is perfect.

Roadworks were taking place within 50 meters of the front door. We were subjected to 2 days of constant "tok tok tok tok" of the hydraulic breakers, from seven in the morning until five in the evening. Entry and exit into the main road was also difficult and dangerous due to the construction work. We realize that this is not the owners fault but we feel that we should have been informed of the roadworks and possible disturbance. A most unpleasant stay.
