Built on the banks of the Nhlaralumi River, in the heart of the world-famous Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Simbavati River Lodge is an intimate and family-friendly camp shaded by age-old Jackalberry and Leadwood trees with big-5 game viewing and breathtaking views.
Simbavati takes its name from the local Shangaan language and translates it as “the place where the lions come down from the stars", and offers contemporary designed accommodation comprising luxury tented suites or thatched family chalets.
Surrounded by the bush and wildlife, the air-conditioned accommodation is elegantly decorated with sophisticated finishes and furnished with comfortable twin beds and has en-suite bathrooms with baths and showers and eco-friendly amenities. Each tent and suite also opens onto a private deck for game-viewing or enjoying a sundowner watching the bushveld sunsets.
The lodge offers a communal bar, lounge, boma and extensive decks with breathtaking views of the Nhlaralumi River. A children's activity centre offers a selection of toys and board games, as well as a staff member to keep children entertained with activities.
