Description

Slowveld View is a thatched-roof home located in Marloth Park, a 3000-hectare wildlife conservancy situated on the southern border of the Kruger National Park. Guests can enjoy watching the free-roaming game and a multitude of birdlife that often visit the property. The property is also fitted with solar power.

This double-storey house can accommodate 6 adults and 2 children and comprises 3 en-suite bedrooms and an open-plan living area. The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, the second bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, and the third bedroom is furnished with a double bed. One of the en-suite bathrooms has a bath and the other 2 en-suite bathrooms each have a shower. Towels are supplied. Each bedroom has cupboards, air-conditioning, and a ceiling fan.

The rest of the first floor boasts a recreational area with a built-in bar, a fridge-freezer, a built-in braai, an 8-seater patio table, as well as a kitchenette with induction plates, cutlery, crockery, double sink and cleaning products. This area leads to another entertainment area which has a pool table, a jacuzzi, a viewing deck, and sun loungers with a mist sprayer above them.

On the ground floor is a well-equipped kitchen that is equipped with a coffee machine, an AEG gas hob with an electric oven, a microwave oven, 2 fridge-freezers, a toaster and a sandwich press, a kettle, a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, ample cutlery and crockery, and cleaning products.The adjacent open-plan dining room boasts a wooden dining table that seats 8 to 10 people. There is a lounge area with a 5-seater suite, 2 single sleeper couches for children, and a TV with full DStv channels. Wi-Fi and a back-up UPS is provided. The ground floor also has a guest bathroom with a toilet, basin, and shower. The ground floor features a large picture window, to allow you to look out into the veld at the waterhole area.

A door leads out onto a lovely stoep, from where the animals can safely be watched at eye level, while you sit comfortably on the patio chairs or in a swing chair. There is an adjoining tiled patio with a fire pit, built-in seating, and a small splash pool.

The house has safety features such as self-closing doors, window screens, burglar bars, and a linked alarm system.

There are no fences around the house, and the animals that appear from the open bush space to come to the watering hole and then graze and browse around the house; animals such as blue wildebeest, zebra, kudu, bushbuck, impala, duiker, warthog, ostrich, guinea fowl, mongoose, and occasionally giraffe. At night one can often hear either the Kruger lions, or the lions in the adjacent Lion Spruit reserve, grunt and roar.
