Smithfield House is located 130 km from Bloemfontein in the town of Smithfield situated along the N6, making it the ideal stopover on all major routes. Set in a 5-acre property Smithfield House provides a genuine Platteland experience with amenities on the doorstep while an assortment of rescued domestic animals, livestock and poultry live happily on the property. Settle down on the verandah to watch the sunrise or set or gaze at the starry heavens away from noise and bustle.

Accommodation is available in 3 guest suites which are each able to accommodate 2 guests, and are each individually styled and furnished. Each room contains an en-suite bathroom. There are no self-catering facilities in the rooms, only tea- and coffee-making facilities. Meals are available at the guesthouse on request and with prior arrangement, to ensure fresh produce is available.

The town is nestled within the shadows of 2 koppies with views out over the platteland. A 9-hole golf course welcomes guests on the N6 whilst the nearby dam and koppies provide ample opportunity for hiking, mountain biking, trail running or canoeing.

Your hostess will recommend eateries where you can dine. She will also make the necessary reservations for you if required.

Smithfield House has a fence around the property and state-of-the-art security which means you can relax outside on the property as well as inside the guesthouse, while asleep.

The geysers are gas and water is pumped from a tank when the municipal water is not flowing. Each room has portable solar lighting. Hot water for showers is constantly available regardless of loadshedding.
