Description

The Soft Adventure Camp is set on open plains with granite hills as a backdrop, on the unique 25,000-hectare Nam Nau Habitat private nature reserve in the Namib Naukluft Park. The Namib Naukluft Park is the largest nature reserve in Namibia and many private nature reserves are nestled at its borders to form a unity for wildlife and people alike. This unique and peaceful place has been carefully developed by its nature loving owners, Friedolf and Barbara Sturm, and has been designed for the nature loving visitor, who wants to experience the undisturbed Namib Desert, without using all the facilities and luxuries of a lodge.

Accommodation is offered in 15 chalets that have been individually placed in order to keep the beautiful open view onto the plains. The chalets are built on a fixed structure with canvas partitions, giving you the feeling of a tented camp. Each chalet contains 2 or 3 single beds, an air-conditioner, ceiling fan, table, and a shower en suite with a toilet and washbasin. 2 camp chairs are provided. A shaded space in front of each bungalow allows you to enjoy your view during the early morning hours or during sunset.

Well-maintained walkways lead to a centrally located main building based on top of a hill. Guests are invited to make use of this area during the course of the day. The bar offers cold beverages and the light wind offers a nice cool breeze during the heat of the day. It is also the dining area where dinner is a special event; watch the chef prepare your meal right in the centre of the boma. It is a traditional meal, the celebration of the day, a social get-together with new friends. A splash pool is available on-site, nestled in the rocks. It offers you the desired refreshment after an adventurous day.

During the course of the day you may want to participate in any of the guided excursions or just relax and enjoy the beautiful desert scenery. The near-by waterhole attracts springbok, ostrich and zebra.
