Beautiful, peaceful place.

The location of the lodge, quite deep in the bush, was fantastic. The grounds are wonderfully peaceful. The rooms were spacious and clean. Hot water! The food was above expectation. The kitchen staff produced a lot of goodness, but wow, they are loud! I would go back.

Excellent in all regards

Beautiful location, excellent staff, great wholesome food, peaceful and it felt safe. The highlight was the battlefield tour which is really touching. If I could offer one suggestion it would be to provide guests with a little map that sets out one or two self walks (perhaps up Alice, or down the wagon trail to the river) and also a few mountain bike routes. I would be willing to pay extra for the opportunity to ride across some of the land around the lodge.

Very recommendable.

Enjoyable two night stay! Full of education and history; wonderful, friendly staff! Great!

Enjoyed our two nights at the Spionkop Lodge, while on a family vacation (all adults). Definitely take advantage of the historical tour! Being from Canada, I only knew bits of pieces of SA's history. Much more understanding now!
