A hidden gem!

We loved our time at the Estate. We found the staff incredibly friendly and so helpful. The accommodations are wonderful. It is indeed a place to digitally detox!

Relaxing, remote, luxury self catering.

Lovely accommodation. A couple of km along a dirt road to get to the estate. Remote stay and about 30 min to any Midlands eating spots. Perfect spot for a few days if you want to get away and relax.

The location and house is beautiful and peaceful.

The housekeepers are friendly and helpful, you can rely on them. The house is fully equipped with everything you need.

Unpleasant.

Customer service was extremely poor. Racism. Bad road. The two gentlemen who assisted with horse riding are the reason they lodge will get a star at least, otherwise, the location is the best but everything else is poor. They must fix the roads and improve on their hospitality.

Our check-in time is 14h00 - 18h00. In our correspondence we only recommend SUV`s or 4x4s. Due to heavy rainfall the road had deteriorated. We also mention that the cell reception is also minimal.
It is best not to travel this road at night, all this information was mentioned to you in our emails and watsapp messages.
We apologise that you experianced poor service.

Our stay at Star Dam was tranquil!

Lovely lodge that has an amazing fireplace! Private and secure. Fabulous for fishing as you can hire out a boat and take a cruise at your leisure. Big draw-back was no signal, so for teenagers that was not so great. Lovely scenery in the misty mountains.
